"Spice rushed the growth of the young Elisabeth. By six she was speaking prophecies, "Our people, those of glory, with tears shall be the water to give him life."
- FROM "AITANA, FAMILY COMMENTARIES"
BY THE PRINCESS IRULAN

AS SOON as the spice blew Paul's way, his brain was forever altered.

Paul shielded his eyes from the sun.

The boy never figured the Arrakis sun be so hot. "Paul." A voice like mallets against a drum made Paul's ear ring.

The boy looked down at the ground, turned his head to his right to track the footprints leading his to face of the woman. Paul slipped through cracks in rocks. As he got closer he felt a sense of achievement when he saw the woman's shadow was laid out on the ground.

"Paul." She once again called, guiding him her way. Paul's head finally arose from the ground as the shade prevented the sun from blinding him. The boy nearly jumped out his body at the sight of no other than Mileena Gentry.

The girl looked much older. She was observing the desert kangaroo mouse as it built its habitat out of hay. Paul took his rightful place by his best friend. "Poor guy." Mileena commented. If the desert was nearly hell for her she knew it was worse for the smaller prey.

She held her finger out to the mouse. Paul cautiously pulled her hand back, "They're defiant. He might bite." He warned, gripping her hand to make sure she wouldn't try it once more.

Mileena turned her face to the boy. Her lips chapped, she wet them with her tongue. Her now sapphire eyes found their way to Paul's lips. A sexual tension formed between the two. Mileena couldn't bring herself to give in, not yet.

She pulled her head wrap- which rested on her neck- over her head and began to walk away. The dream was in slow motion, Paul chased after her. "Millie!" His voice called out, it was a whisper. Mileena slightly turned out, a persuasive smile on her face. "Paul." Was all she seemed to say.

She came to a stop, held both her hands out. As Paul went to lock his hand with hers, she had other things in mind. She traced his lips with her left hand finger tips before mashing her lips in his.

The kiss was so soothing yet so terrifying. Her tongue in his mouth felt like the pricks of rose thrones. He wanted to pull away but then again, that dying tension was still there.

Mileena surprisingly pulled away giving the two air to breathe. However, blood fell from both their mouths at an alarming rate. Paul fell to the ground gripping his gut. Mileena smiled revealing her teeth also staining with a red tint. "Lisan Al-gaib!" She mocked.

Chants of the Lisan Al-gaib followed behind her voice. Paul reminisced on the bittersweet dream as he heard the nickname for the first time besides a dream. He turned behind him to see Mileena walking the opposite way, "Millie?" The wind muffled his voice yet Mileena would hear him out of a crowd of thousands.

She immediately commanded the guards beside her to come to a halt. "M'lord?" She questioned. It was the first time the boy had spoke to her since the leave from Caladan. Paul felt he wasn't standing his ground by speaking to the girl but a force was dragging him to her.

"Paul?" Mileena spoke with deep concern.

"Why isn't she coming with us?" Paul questioned Jessica, who had froze by his side.

"She'll be on another thropter." Jessica caressed her son's arm up and down seeing the absence of Mileena was bothering him.

"Lady Mileena! Your mother awaits." A guard rushed. It hurt Mileena's soul, literally, to break eye contact with Paul but her attendance was needed elsewhere.

"Paul." Jessica cocked her head towards their thropter. "Come."

The bodies of lady Jessica, Paul, Elias, and Leto began to seem small as the thropter took off. Mileena leaned her head on the burning window observing the landing sight intensely. "Lisan Al-gaib." Emelina suddenly scoffed breaking silence.

"Voice from the outer world." Mileena elaborated. "What are we doing here?" She huffed.

"I was just about to ask you the same thing."

"I mean what are we doing here! You saw it with your own eyes, he can be the Kwisatz Haderach. Mother, our people have wanted this for so long. Are we really prepared to wait another century?"

"What do you know about our people? Honey, you haven't lived nearly long enough to experience the world of a Bene Gesserit witch. And from the way things are going you never will." Emelina corrected.

Mileena's self esteem deteriorated, she shrunk into a box. Mileena's eyes flickered to the young Elisabeth who sat on the lap of a nanny. Elisabeth's eyes shined with curiousness. 'If only you knew the future ahead of you.' Mileena knew if she was Duchess, Elisabeth would be the next true Bene Gesserit spy.

She gave Elisabeth a reassuring smile, leaned her head back on the window. "Shield wall going up." The pilot informed.

"Why would we use a shield wall?" With the Harkonnens gone they'd be more safe here than they ever were on Caladan. "The weather. And the worms." The pilot laughed at the thought of worms. No way there were animals roaming under their noses meters large.

"Hmm."

do we like shorter or
longer chapters??
• Emelina and Mileena's
dialogue in this chapter
is EXTREMELY
key!
• It's not written in this chapter like
I planned but Mileena is wearing a silver
dress with a jeweled veil. I've been
imagining the dress for the longest
and to not be able to fit it into the
chapter is kind've disappointing.
