Chapter Five

One early morning at dawn Reyna found herself alone in the training arena or at least that's what she thought.

"Reyna, a moment please." said a voice. Reyna raised her sword when Apollo magically appeared before her.

"Apollo." Reyna said dangerously. "Don't you have suns to ride or something?"

"Dear Reyna, do you ever wonder what it's like under the sunlit sky of Olympus?" Apollo asked. Slowly walking circles around Reyna. He stopped in front of her with his face just inches in front of her's.

Reyna, ever the pragmatic demigod, raised an eyebrow. "I doubt you came here to talk about the sunlit sky of Olympus."

Apollo's eyes sparkled. "Perhaps not, but what if I told you that the sun wants to give you a gift." Before Reyna could say anything Apollo waved his hand and above Reyna golden shimmer rained down. It disappeared soon after along with Apollo leaving Reyna alone in the training area.

Apollo found Piper along the banks of the Little Tiber. "Piper, can we talk?"

Piper turned to see the god Apollo behind her. "What do you want?"

"I should be asking you that. You see, I have a proposal." Apollo said. "Bring me Reyna's baby and you can become a goddess at my side and you can get anything you want."

"I don't understand. Reyna's baby?" Piper paused and her eyes widen, horrified she asked. "Apollo what have you done?"

Apollo waved his hand dismissively. "Do we have a deal or not?" he held out his hand. Piper looked at it and shook it. "Deal." she said.

Apollo grinned. "Good because we have a lot to discuss."

Back on Olympus Apollo watched Camp Jupiter and New Rome through a crystal ball. Envy burned in him as a certain daughter of Bellona walked through New Rome with Jupiter's son and her husband. To Apollo Reyna deserved so much more. She deserved a realm of her own and a god at her side and Apollo was going to give it to her. Starting with their eariler encounter at dawn.
