The next two days weren't supposed to fly by that fast. Each second filled with just watching you, learning your every little move, the tedious little habits you had about your day.

It wasn't enough time.

Now here Simon stood watching you laugh about how he was over reacting while you gathered a change of clothes.

Simon... not ghost. He made it very clear yesterday that you'll never know him by, even if you had to fight side by side he was Simon.

The man that no one knew, the man he was struggling to even let you know. How was he supposed to give himself to you if the only thing he had been able to get out was his name.

Maybe he was afraid you'd be afraid of his demons. Maybe it was the thought of giving himself fully to someone who wasn't guaranteed to love him despite the circumstances.

His hand instinctively rubbed along his ribs, the burn still real even if it wasn't physical. Yet with your touch it always went away, what will happen if you never touch his skin again. It was a fleeting moment when you did, yet it still stayed engraved in his head.

"It's just a stupid myth. There's no reason you can't stay here tonight." Ghost mumbled trying to hide his insecurities. If you left for tonight, what would happen if you decided you liked it better than in here with him.

"Look our luck has already been shit, I'm just taking extra precautions." Your words rang in his ears.

Don't do it. Don't do it. His heart repeated the words knowing all too well his head was kicking into fight or flight mode and one thing was for sure.. he never flew he only fought.

"I see, so being with me is still shit luck then, huh." Ghost scoffed, his teeth instantly clenching shut after the words. He was already to deep in, he even knew that by the way your movements stilled. The red hue creeping up to your ears instead of your cheeks like he had grown used to.

Your silence ate at him, like some type of parasite trying to devour him from the inside out.

Slowly you went back to your task at hand, shoving clothes into the bag a lot more aggressively then you had started not even sparing him a glance.

You should've been used to it. The last few days felt like just a tease at this point, especially now that he was already picking a fight the day before you're wedding.

"You need a night away from me to try and insure that I won't make you anymore miserable than it already is? Is that what it is?" He prodded, his voice increasing with each word in hopes to get some reaction.

Even if he was picking the fight he just wanted the reassurance that you'd still be there, dressed in white walking towards him with that smile that made his world tilt.

Little did he know is that all you wanted was for him to let your heart heal before he came crashing back in like a hurricane. Wrecking your world and confusing your already bouncing brain.

"I never said that." You mumbled, holding back the need to raise your own voice and defend yourself. Your shoulder pushed against his trying to press pass him through the door but he didn't budge. Ghosts arms crossed over his chest, his chin tilted up looking down at you over his nose.

"Didn't have to." He ground out, eyes desperately searching yours for the words neither of knew were lurking below the surface.

Your eyes darted away from his, clouding over with the same emotions he always provoked, refusing to give him the benefit of the conflict he constantly put you through.

His chest swelled with a deep breath, giving a sliver of a moment to let you speak, when nothing pushed past those perfect lips he let out the air.

Shaking his head he stepped to the side, allowing you to move past him. Your feet slowed to a halt until you were standing just outside the threshold.

"'I'll see you tomorrow.." your feet continued after he spoke, eyes burning with a need to let every pent up emotion fall. "And for the record, being tied to you was the luckiest thing that ever happened to me, even if all you are is miserable with me.. all I've ever been with you is-" ghosts shut the door, cutting off anything else he could've let you hear.
