"They got cocky and made some stupid decisions."
"Oh, and I'm just supposed to believe that you're exempt from making such mistakes."
"Of course not, but I know better than to try anything that they did."
"Pardon my intrusion, [REDACTED], but we have a... situation."
_____
"I'm sure you understand how difficult it has been to make arrangements for someone of such an intense stature," Ozpin gestured to the display of Reinhardt towering over his contemporaries, even surprising the seven-foot-tall Linda by at least three feet. Silverash and the Doctor leaned in to examine it, both letting out a puzzled "Huh".
"They're all standing in this photo, correct?" Silverash asked and Ozpin nodded. "Hmm." Karlan Commercial's founder turned to his body-double and asked, "Did you know about this?"
The Doctor shook his head. "I thought that armor-set was still in the vault."
"Degenbrecher, did anyone report Reinhardt wearing THAT set of armor before his departure?"
"No sir," Degenbrecher looked over the photo with them.
"Are you saying you didn't know about this?" Ozpin expressed doubt. Surely SOMEBODY noticed...
"Reinhardt received approval to serve as a scout," Silverash stated, "but that armor was NOT to leave our armory. His regular armor is the same size as Linda's. We'll be sure to confiscate it before the end of the day. Thank you for bringing this to my attention."
"You are quite welcome," the Headmaster opted to give them the benefit of the doubt in exchange for additional information. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the purpose of that armor?" Enciodas mimicked Ozpin's posture and answered with a question of his own.
"Are you familiar with the classification of Geist known as an Arma Gigas?"
"It's been reported to me on occasion," he confessed.
"Then I'm sure you're aware that someone at the Schnee Dust Company was responsible for the creation of such a creature." Ozpin leaned back and nodded slowly.
"I am."
"Now, courtesy of his daughter, it was dealt with, but hearing of it did cause me to ponder what its original purpose was. So, you are free to call it paranoia, I felt it prudent to arm my staff to deal with one should Jaques or one of his minions decide to send one over to Karlan in an act of corporate espionage." Evidently anticipating Ozpin's next question, he followed up by saying, "Why Reinhardt brought it with him here is beyond me."
"I see," Ozpin mulled over the information for a moment. Satisfied with the results, for now, he changed the subject to one of Reinhardt's associates. "Forgive me if I come across as unprofessional or crass, but what were you thinking when you sent Tavish Degroot to my school?"
"He hasn't been drinking on campus, has he?" Silverash's voice held genuine concern.
"Not on campus, but he HAS been caught drinking on field trips and displayed drunken behavior on a multitude of occasions. To his credit, he has been better since the arrival of your latest set of scouts, but that does not excuse his past transgressions."
"Sending Demoman was my call, actually," the Doctor spoke up. "I'm sure I don't need to tell you that he has a... strong affinity for scrumpy. However, I can assure you that he is a good demolition expert, hence his codename. I confess that he had been sober when we first sent him here and, as a result, suffered from withdrawals. We supplied him with medication to remedy that."
