Thomas had left to see Bonnie around an hour again, the Finn situation just made me feel nauseous. For about an hour I lay on the couch, staring at the ceiling gathering my thoughts. However, I found myself in the kitchen, looking for a snack. Opening cupboard after cupboard I searched for anything to snack on. The last cupboard I opened was the fruit cupboard, apples, oranges, and bingo! A bunch of slightly brown bananas was festering at the back of the cupboard. Searching more, I found eggs, butter, sugar, and flour. Perfect!
Lighting up the fire I began to prep for my snack, that was ending up more as a meal. I was making a banana cake. Mushing the bananas in a bowl, I could hear stomping coming down the stairs. The only person that could be was Finn, I hoped he didn't think anything awkward of me. Bracing myself up more to fix my posture, I mushed the bananas under a fork.
I could hear Finn'ss footsteps coming closer to the kitchen and sure enough he was standing behind me. For the first few minutes, we said nothing, as he kept glancing over at me while clattering around in the cupboards until Finn broke the silence with the simple question, "What are you making?"
Turning around, Finn's eyes were concentrated on my hands pushing the fork down to mush the banana, "I'm making a banana cake."
"Cool," Finn smirked walking closer to me. His hand reached over my head to the cabinet above me, causing him to get closer than ever to me. He knew what he was doing. He got out two mugs from the cabinet, his arm shot behind me, turning the stove on to boil the kettle. Peering over my shoulder, his hands swiftly grabbed a banana from under my arms.
"Oi!" I turned around, snatching the banana from his hand, "I'm using that!"
"Can't I eat my banana in peace?" He teasingly smirked, trying to snatch it back.
"No...you can have a slice of my banana cake when I'm done."
"I would love a slice of your cake-"
My head spun round as I looked at him in disgust, "That's disgusting," A smirk formed across his face as his arms moved around me, trying to grab another banana. "No!" Gently I slapped his hand, but this only made him more determined. Both of his arms moved around me in inspiration to grab a banana. Before I knew it I was trapped. Both his arms were around me, attempting to still grab a banana, yet my body was the only thing stopping him from doing so.
"C'mon Freya-" he laughed, "It's only a banana!" Finally, he grabbed on, pulling his arms away from me and catching my eye while smirking.
"I hate you!" I snapped, returning to mushing my bananas.
"You want a cup of tea?" he asked, just before the kettle started to whistle.
"Yeah," I murmured. All the hate I felt towards Finn had dissolved into the offer for a cup of tea. God, why am I like this? The sound of spoons clinking echoed through the half-empty kitchen, as Finn placed two large cups filled to the brim with boiling tea in front of me.
He smiled, expecting a thank you but I ignorantly returned to my banana cake. Bringing out the big bowl, I began to add ingredients, although I was missing a banana as it was halfway down Finn's throat, it would hopefully still taste the same. Sifting the flour into the bowl, Finn once again was peering over my shoulder. "Stop," I pushed his face away, "You're in my way,"
His hands moved onto my shoulder squeezing them gently, "Does this make you uncomfortable?" He whispered low under his breath. I could feel his hands squeeze my shoulders tighter, brushing his fingers on top of the cotton fabric of my shirt.
"Yeah..." I lied, returning to my cake and mixing it rather aggressively, pushing the butter around the bowl. His hands moved off my shoulders, leaving me a tad bit disappointed although I asked for him to stop.
Five minutes later, the cake was on the old stove, cooking for another twenty minutes. Sitting down next to Finn, I took a sip from my lukewarm tea. Mine and Finn's Knees brushed against each other under the dining table, sipping at our teas in the silence. "You smell nice..." Finn smiled, bringing his cup to his lips.
"It's Chanel No.5," I hushed under my breath, watching his hands pick up the tea and bring it to his mouth.
"Is it true you ladies wear that to bed?" He smirked.
"No..." I laughed, "And even if I did...I wouldn't tell you."
"I would have to find out myself." He chuckled.
"And how..." I smiled bringing my cup up to my lips once more, "How would you do that?" I spoke into my cup, not daring to look him in the eyes.
"I don't think I need to explain myself." He smiled, facing me as his hand moved towards my face, pushing a piece of hair that had fallen in front of my face behind my ear.
Looking at him back, my cheeks grew into a pink blush. My whole body was feeling numb. Finn's hand did not move from behind my ear, his face edged closer toward mine. "You need to wear that perfume more..." He whispered, his hand now moving fully behind my head, supporting my neck.
"It's stolen anyway." I hushed back, our faces only inches apart.
"Even better." I could feel his breath on my lips, his hand behind my head, his other hand reaching towards my waist. After a minute of silence and listening to our in-time breathing Finn moved in for a kiss. Pressing his lips gently against mine I felt an explosion in my stomach, sending butterflies cascading everywhere.
His kiss grew more passionate, pulling me closer to him by the waist and-
"Fuck-" Pulling away from the kiss I rushed over to the stove, "My banana cake is going to burn-"
Finn chuckled as I rushed to the stove, pulling out the crispy banana cake. "Bonnie and Tommy will be back soon anyway..." Finn murmered.
"So...we won't mention the kiss-?" I placed the crispy banana cake on a tray to cool down.
"Better if we didn't," He rested his face on his hands, "But it doesn't mean we can't do it."
A smile made its way to my lips, "This better be bloody brilliant banana cake...it was the only thing interrupting our kiss,"
Finn chuckled, "You made it... So I can assure you it will be perfect."
