A Week Later...
Polly's hand sliced through the air, slamming a letter in the middle of the table. Bonnie had been gone for a week, and nobody had heard from her since she stormed out. I felt like it was partially my fault and guilt was slowly starting to flood me. All of us looked at the letter, and each of us felt a bit of guilt for Bonnie leaving. Ada looked at me and Finn before rolling her eyes and picking up the letter.
Ripping it open she looked around at the table. Everyone was here, even Tommy had a look of guilt on his face. Sitting down Ada took out the letter, "It's from Bonnie..." she sighed.
Polly sat next to Ada, resting her head on Ada's shoulder to read the letter. Ada took a deep breath before reading out the first line, "Dear Freya..." She looked up at me, "Do you want me to read it?"
"Go on." I sighed feeling guilt run through me, but it slowly eased away as Finn rested his hand on my thigh.
Ada clutched the letter as she read out "I'm sorry, I was drunk."
"No shit-" John muttered before Polly slapped him across the head.
"I was drunk and frankly being..." Ada laughed, "Being a bitch." A laugh escaped her before she continued to read, "I understand if you don't want to see me again, I have moved in with my fiancee Emelio, so I am not homeless or in need."
Looking up at Tommy he had pure rage in his eyes, I knew he liked Bonnie and regretted blurting it out. Ada continued to read, "The wedding has been moved to months ahead, I would like you to invite the Shelby's,"
"Wheyy!" Arthur yelled, "Free cake!"
"And..." Ada looked at me, " I want you to be my bridesmaid, you are my best friend and I can't lose you over some soppy argument, I hope you can forgive me," Ada stopped reading.
"Was that it?" I asked.
Ada tipped the envelope upside down and a wedding invite fell out, Polly instantly grabbed it before anyone could get their hands on it. "I will be deciding if this family goes to this wedding or not." She snapped as she looked at me, "The only person that I am allowing to go is Freya... the rest of you will just get in a fight."
John laughed, "Me...fighting...never-"
Tommy lit a cigarette, his face emotionless like usual, "Is there a return address on that letter?" He reached over the table and picked up the envelope.
"Yeah." Ada muttered, "What are you gonna do with that?"
He smirked as he tucked it into his blazer pocket, "I have some stuff I have to return to her."
"Course you do..." Ada muttered, walking into the kitchen.
Following Ada, I poured water into the kettle and started to boil it on the stove. "Ada, what's it like to be married?" I asked, waiting for the kettle."Oh god...well Tommy doesn't like my Freddie for a start," she laughs, "So that was me buggered."
Placing the tea bags into the kettle I got an extra mug for Ada, "Do you reckon Bonnie will be alright?" I asked.
"Honestly...she will be fine." Ada laughed, "Spending another man's money is her thing,"
I smiled, although felt discomfort for Bonnie. She was left with a man who was obviously possessive over her and didn't understand love properly. Tommy stormed in, clutching Bonnie's letter in one hand, "I'm going to see her-" he began to rummage around the kitchen before pulling a gun from a kitchen draw.
"Fuck sake-" Ada muttered wandering away into the living room, "Nobody wants her back-" she muttered.
Ignoring Ada's comment and the gun in Tommy's,s hand I said, "I want to come too-"
"Freya," Tommy muttered, walking away from me, "No... you're only young-" he walked into the corridor, Bonnie's fur coat was next to Tommy's shoes, and as he put his coat on he picked up her coat.
"Please-" I begged, "I have to see her."
Opening the door Tommy turned back to me, "Freya," placing a hand on my face he smiled sweetly, "I will tell her you miss her. But it's..." he looked at the gun tucked into his coat, "it may get messy."
"I don't care," I winged, his thumb brushed against my face as he moved his hand away, "please let me come-"
"Freya..." his voice trembled, "I'm not risking you getting hurt...I'm already terrified that something has happened to bonnie-"
"I know but-"
"Freya...no-" his voice became stern and strict. "Please-"
"Fine-" I sighed, "please don't die though," I replied sarcastically.
"I won't." He smiled.
"Wait-" I quickly ran upstairs, almost tripping on the way up. Running into my room I began to quickly rummage through the draws before finding the bottle of Chanel no.5 Bonnie had left. Racing back downstairs Tommy was still waiting by the front door, "Give her this-" ramming the glass bottle into his hand, he looked down at it and then back up at me.
"So this is what makes her smell so good-" he chuckled, placing it in her pocket.
"Tell her I miss her-"
"I don't-!" Shouted Ada through the living room door, "She can go live with Emelio for all I care-!"
Turning back to Tommy he was already leaving, the motor was pulled up outside the house being filled up with fuel by Curly. The car boot was open. I had to go to London.
I couldn't see Tommy, so that meant he couldn't see me. Without another thought, I ran outside in only my old shoes and thin shawl. Sneaking past Curly, I jumped into the boot. To camouflage myself, I pulled Bonnie's old fur coat over myself. Pulling the boot down, the apace was confined and warm. But I didn't care, I had to go to London.
Ten minutes later I felt the car begin to move. This was it.
