Connor awakes in a strange state, he can't hear, his vision is blurry and he's still recovering from the shutdown when he moves. His processors start up at a much slower rate than usual. A hangover of sorts.
He comes too after a minute of delirium to find himself held up. Looking around he finds he's being hoisted up from the ground by some unknown contraption. His hands are held apart above him by mechanical claws, like a lobster. They clamp onto his wrists tightly. There's all sorts of wiring and unknown devices strewn about the room. Looks almost like a basement. Unfinished floors. Dirty half-assed concrete walls.
In front of him is a tray table, on top is a pile of cloths soaked in blue blood. As Connor's gaze looks down at it he catches a glimpse of his penis and realizes he's nude. What is happening? Is he being stripped for parts or something?
On the tray—beside the bloodied cloths, is a broken #8927 Thirium Pump Regulator. The one he was installed with. Has he been fixed...? He pulls away from the claw holding his wrist, it doesn't budge. He then tries his other wrist and gets the same result, no progress.
Starting to panic, Connor is about to just shout for help when he notices a laptop beside him, perhaps that's what's controlling this machine.
Hacking in progress...
He finds the power source internally, and with a blink of his eye, the machine's grip is broken. He falls to the ground onto his knees, feeling for the first time in his life, self-conscious. Connor rises to his feet, looking around the workshop he finds a small bin.
Upon opening it he finds his clothes and James's knife. Worried, he scans it.
Frank B. 9" Dark Oak Stiletto Bayonet Automatic Knife (4" Polish)
Stainless steel and stained Oak wood.
WARNING - ILLEGAL WEAPONTraces of human blood.
Signs of a fight?
The blood makes him double-take, he has to find James before anything happens to him. Within seconds Connor gets dressed, slipping on his CyberLife blazer and black jeans. He hopes that it's not James's blood on the blade as he stuffs the knife in his back pocket "James?" He calls out on the off chance he's nearby. No response.
There's only one door in the opposite corner of the room, an old wooden one. Connor carefully approaches it, moving as fast as possible while still being silent. He reaches it, placing a delicate hand on the handle and cracking it open just slightly. He is met with a staircase that leads up to another door. Nobody's in sight.
He's never felt afraid before. Never in his life has he hesitated to open a door, fearful of what's behind it. He's still not sure if he's afraid for himself, or James. Possibly both.
Carefully, he ascends the old wooden staircase, reaching a much less old door at the top. Opening it much like the other doors, he enters a kitchen. It's cluttered and messy. There are traces of blue blood all around the farmhouse sink. All of it looks to be from different times.
The house is coated in a hideous blue wallpaper, and the dark brown wood trim doesn't help it in the slightest. It's a farmhouse, that much is clear by the excess of plaid and cow imagery. This place doesn't look like it's been touched or changed since the late seventies. The only modern thing is the TV, which sticks out like a sore thumb.
Find James. This is the only thought on Connor's mind as he pushes through a set of dark brown double doors at the end of the living room. He finds the entryway, it's night outside. He can see the blackened sky through the window in the front door.
