A/N: WOKE UP AND CHOSE ANGST TODAY!

3rd person POV:

Blitz had woken up at around four in the morning and was sitting up in bed with his head in his hands just thinking. Nothing had even woken him up this time, he just... woke up. On his own.

His mind had been preoccupied with a thought that was only a small one that came across his mind rarely and only for a moment. Normally while he was busy or working on something that didn't concern this. But now he was awake and had time to think. He had time to consider things.

He looked down at his side and looked at Stolas, his back toward him and his ribcage lifting and lowering once again rhythmically. He placed his hand on Stolas's shoulder, letting his hand stroke his delicate and soothing feathers before looking away.

He loves Stolas more than he can even comprehend, and everyday he unintentionally finds new ways to surprise himself with what he would do for the prince, Stolas, the love of his life.

But Stolas was immortal, and Blitz was not. One day Blitz was going to age out and die. And Stolas would only continue to grow and thrive, happily alive. Stolas can't die, he can be killed but he can't die on his own.

Blitz removed his hand and moved to slide off the bed but accidentally pressed his hand against Stolas's tail making him groan.

"Mm, Blitzy don't touch me there." He mumbled sleepily with furrowed eyes in discomfort. Blitz quickly removed his hand and sighed tiredly while getting out of bed and walking out to the balcony. The balcony he would use to climb up once a month on the full moon for transactional fucking. That had been a total of three years ago. Before him and Stolas made it official and lived happily together with their daughters.

Before Blitz had come to terms with his own feelings about Stolas in anyway. He had always pushed them away and despised them. However, now, being with the bird brain had gotten him to communicate better and actually start thinking about his feelings and emotions more often. He had come to terms with them more often and was a lot happier than repressing them. It was like burying one emotion under thousands upon thousands of others you've already buried and piled over years.

Being with Stolas, Stolas had helped him handle one emotion at a time and give each one the amount of attention and care it needed. And as Blitz got better he had helped Stolas in ways he still can't wrap his head around today, he helped Stolas through so many things, Stolas could've written a book about it.

As Blitz approached the railing surrounding the perimeter of the balcony, he cautiously hopped on top of it and sat down on the cold metal. He gazed up at the starry night, reflecting in his eyes beautifully until he leaned back slightly and closed his eyes.

"What are you doing out here? It's freezing." Stolas shivered as he walked up behind Blitz, Blitz's bare back pressed against Stolas's soft, warm and tickling feathers.

"Just wanted to think. How did you know I got up?" Blitz asked wrapping his tail around one of Stolas's thighs as the latter rested his chin lazily on Blitz's horns.

"You woke me up just enough to be aware of my surroundings when your hand compressed my tail into the bed." Stolas replied while yawning. "What time is it?"

"Just about four probably." Blitz responded.

"What were you thinking about?" Stolas asked softly while making small circles on the imp's muscular arm.

"Just... the future, I guess." Blitz shivered against the avian's tickling feathers brushing against his skin.

"What about it?"

"Well... I guess that, one day I'm going to die. And you will still be alive, and will continue to be living. And I was just thinking about what life would be like." Blitz answered. There was a long pause with only the sounds of helltoads croaking, the wind moaning in the trees, and each others warm breathing.

"Well, I suppose that is something that would be... hard, to think about." Stolas said as one of his hands found Blitz's and held it tightly yet comfortingly.

"Hey Stolas, can I ask you something?" Blitz asked.

"Of course, go ahead." Stolas responded rubbing Blitz's hand with his thumb.

"When the day comes that I... leave. What are you gonna do?" Blitz asked fearful for how this conversation was heading.

"Carry on with my work until Via turns 18, then she will continue where I had to leave off." Stolas answered and paused for a moment. "But I assume you mean how will my life be different once you're gone." Stolas said sadly.

"Yeah." Blitz shifted in his seating position to sit up more.

"Well, I could never love anyone else like I love you. The love I have for both of our daughters is immense, and will never cease. I'd obviously miss you, a lot. Remembering the smiles you give me will one day bring tears to my eyes. And the memories will one day make me cry." Stolas said almost choking on his words.

Blitz turned around and cautiously stood up on the railing while holding onto Stolas's shoulders for support. He looked at Stolas who had glistening, watery, red eyes, the red hue shining on Blitz's already red skin.

He raised his hand to hold Stolas's face, to which the latter leaned on his hand and blinked slowly to let a tear roll down his face only to be wiped away by a caressing thumb. Stolas smiled weakly and held Blitz's arm. As Blitz continued to stroke gently and lovingly with a warm touch, Stolas began to speak again.

"Can you just, promise to stick around for a while?" Stolas managed to utter out.

"Like you always say, until the seven hells collapse." Blitz assured him as he pressed his forehead against Stolas's as the prince picked him up, to which Blitz wrapped his legs around Stolas.

"I don't actually know what I'll do when you're gone. I'm too scared to think about it." Stolas confessed.

"It's okay. We'll figure it out." Blitz said and pulled away to look into his eyes. "I promise." Stolas smiled. "Besides we still got quite a few years left until we actually need to start worrying about it. Let's just make everyday count."

"Thank you darling." Stolas whispered and held Blitz close so they both could get warmer. Stolas looked ahead and saw the sun start rising. They both held each other while staring out into the distance at the beautiful sight.

"Until the seven hells collapse..." Stolas whispered to himself on the lonely balcony, watching the new sunrise without his beloved. Holding Blitz's old choker close to his heart that Blitz would always wear before he passed, just like his mother.

Blitz had given Stolas, Via, and Loona each something before he passed. And he wanted Stolas to keep his necklace safe. He had given Loona his old spike choker from when he was a lot younger. And he gave Via an old bracelet he wore when he was a child.

Stolas fastened the choker around his neck and wiped his tears.

"Until the seven hells collapse..."
