I don't know how it happened but the scene before me was so surreal something I would never have imagined. Not only was it raining today which was rare but so was the face I was in the cafeteria seated with Carter and all his friends and of course the groupie girls who followed their every move. The fact I was eating my lunch next to Carter and all the popular kids was something I never pictured in a million years. They all chatted with each other laughing and surprisingly enough they were just normal. I always pictured their conversations more snobby and talking about cars and shopping but they all chatted about school and assignments. I guess because the football coach would kick them off the team if they failed but it was different. But despite sitting next to Carter and across from Liam I felt Ambers eyes burning on me like some sort of envious hawk. I didn't blame her though I mean I was sitting in the seat she occupied since forever next to Carter and her presence made me feel like I was unwelcome.

"There you are" a voice chimed in, Julie appearing at the table.

"Uh what do you think your doing?" Amber sourly spoke watching Julie about to take a seat at the table.

"We already have taken in one stray we don't need another" Amber simply shuffled her hand gesturing Julie to leave and her face was saddened.

"What I can't sit here? Liv?" Her eyes turning to me. I swallowed my food awkwardly, I had no right to invite her to sit I mean I was lucky enough to have been invited well dragged by Carter.

"Are you just going to sit there?" Her hands pressed tightly on her hips.

"Liam" she snapped turning her attention to him but like me he stayed silent and stared at his food. This was a horrible situation to be in. I felt like I was being out in an awkward situation but the cafeteria was full and there was no seats vacant at all and I was eating lunch with Carter. I froze unable to summon any words. She scoffed loudly.

"Fine I guess I'll find another seat" if looks could kill I would have been set a fire by the glare she was giving me. I felt horrible for shunning her like that.

"Pathetic" Amber chimed consuming the rest of her shake as her and her girls started giggling and saying horrible things about Julie. I shrunk into my seat. I glanced up to Liam who looked as guilty as I did.

"So did you find out which knee" Carter broke me from my self moping.

"Knee?" I blurted turning to him, he simply smiled at me making me lose focus.

"His knee did you find out which knee?" He continued as everyone continued their chatter.

"Yeah it's his left knee, I don't get the big fascination though" his face frowned in confusement.

"Strange she told me right" he mumbled under his breath before staring at me as if analysing me.

"You sure it's the left?" He asked again a little more seriousness in his tone.

"I'm sure he told me last night" suddenly recalling our conversation.

"Perfect" a sly grin catapulting over his face.

"Where were you last night you missed training" Brad piped up directing his question at Carter as he joined us at the table and took the seat that Julie was going to take.

"I was helping my dad with something" he brushed off casually.

"You told me you were at training last night?" I spoke up attracting the attention of the table and especially Amber. Then remembering the girls voice in the back round. Oh no it was Amber he was with Amber. He laughed nervously.

"I did, must have slipped my mind" he tried to play off.

"So who was the girl in the back round" I frowned asking him loud enough for everyone to hear, especially Amber. Her curiosity grew more as the table became quiet.
