Jeremy and Brer Rabbit were visiting Brer Fox in his lair upon Chick-a-Pin Hill.
They were playing Jeremy's favorite British board game.
Jeremy had just rolled the dice. "No!"
"Yes! Dat space calls fo nine hundr'd an' sixty-free pounds. Brer Jeremy, looks like you owe me twelf 'undr'd bucks" said Brer Fox.
Jeremy casually handed the fox a stack of cash, then handed the dice to Brer Rabbit. "Your turn, Brer Rabbit."
"Too rich fo ma blood. In Splash Mount'n, de crittas gets paid in veg'tables" said Brer Rabbit.
On the other side of the cave, Patty was putting a cowboy hat on Ross the dog's head.
"Whoa there, little buckaroo" she said.
"Why's you puttin' a cowboy hat on a dog?" said Brer Rabbit.
"Because he refused to wear the chaps" answered Patty.
"I don't blame him. That's a fashion don't" said Jeremy.
Patty put Ross on the chair and the dog started growling at Brer Rabbit.
"Hey Ross! Diss is ma chair!" said Brer Rabbit.
Ross kept growling and growling.
"Okay, we can share" said Brer Rabbit.
Ross growled harder.
"All yo's" said Brer Rabbit hopping away from the dog.
Brer Fox went over to his campfire. "NO!!!!"
"Brer Fox, what's the matter?" said Patty.
"Dare's dog pee in ma stew kettle again!" Brer Fox shouted. "Ross, you gots ter stop doin' dat! Bad boy!"
Patty gasped. "He is not a bad boy! That's just his way of saying he likes you."
"What would 'e do f'e dint like me?" said Brer Fox.
"Brer Fox, we're really sorry, and we'll clean it up right away. Right, little buddy?" said Patty.
Then she carried Ross away with Brer Fox's kettle.
"You betta! My dinna stinks 'nuff as it is!" Brer Fox complained.
Jeremy saw how angry the Brers were and decided to speak up. "Fellas, I know having Ross has been hard, but it means so much to Patty. Don't you remember how sad she was when Hal died?"
"Well, Ross is makin' all us sad! Yesidday, he tried ter bury me next ter is bone" said Brer Rabbit.
Jeremy shook his head. "What I'm saying is, Ross has really cheered Patty up. So for her sake, let's make the best of it."
"Tell dat ter all my stew ingredients! Now day 'as ter sleep in de fridge!" said Brer Fox.
"Your ingredients sleep?" said Jeremy.
"Well not now!" said Brer Fox.
