I grabbed everything I needed.

All the medical stuff, bandages, aspirin, heart medication, gauze pads, burn packs, and anything else, I shoved it all into two tiny canvas carry bags. Then, I helped Addy load all of the food we had stored, we had a ten year supply of dry nutrition packs, vacuum sealed stay long meat and vegetables, everything, Addy took the two canvas bags upstairs as I packed my grey canvas bag with things like an extra shirt, different pants, and my weapons, and an old book I had never used and pen. I removed the fake bottom of my bag and started putting the other things I needed in. Four spare pairs of underwear, five boxes of tampons and three large bags of pads. I quickly re secured the fake bottom and continued packing. I reached into my personal medical box, the tiny shoe box I kept under my bed. More bandages, and two small bottles of pine o'clean disinfectant. I still had three inhalers. I grabbed everything and put it in one the side pockets, throwing the box away, into the darkness of the basement. I went into the tiny room on the other side of the basement, Addy followed out of curiosity.

"Before they left, Mum and Dad stocked up on weapons. Dad used to be a hunter, but he accidentally killed a kid once. He never told me the details, but anyway, he swore never to use a gun ever again, but he always kept some here, there's a ton of boxes of bullets in here."

I started emptying the boxes of bullets into the second side pocket of my bag, while Addy called down the others and they took their pick at the supply. While they were preoccupied, I grabbed at the black shoebox I had on a shelf near my bed, I pulled out a card holder filled with photos, put them in my half-filled bag. I reached back into the box and found the leather of a case, and quickly shoved that in too. No one noticed.

"How come you got so much stuff down here? I mean, this is the biggest top up we've ever done," the older woman asked. "I'm Roberta Warren. Missouri National Guard." She smiled and started adjusting her belt, holding a machete.

"My parents were doomsday preppers, everybody thought they were insane, I guess they weren't." She put her hand on my shoulder, and walked away. 10k walked into the small armoury, his jaw was clenched. I could tell that he voted against me coming along with the group. I decided to try and not interact with him as best as I could. I grabbed my hunting knife, and shoved it in my belt. I zipped up my bag, and walked into the armoury. I reached into a box on the floor, and brought up the last automatic gun. Addy walked over to the door.

"How old were you when it happened?" I tucked the gun into the other side of my belt.

"Fourteen. I guess I'm like, seventeen or so now. I didn't know. They aren't exactly printing calendars right now." I smiled faintly as she backed away and walked up the stairs. I followed, slowly, and suddenly had the feeling of guilt. You left them there, by themselves with no food. My own voice echoed inside my head as I fought to block it out. I kept climbing the stairs. I reached the doorway, where I was perched with my knife only an hour ago, and stepped over the threshold into the shop. The door to the basement was behind the counter, and right next to it was a corkboard. It was full of photos and important dates, phone numbers and receipts. I looked over to the photos, and saw one from my fourteenth birthday. It was a black cake, with the mark of perdition from Supernatural on top. I was surrounded by them. Charlie, Jake and Ethan. I reached up to the photo and ripped it off the corkboard. I let it fall out of my hand and hit the floor.

"We have to go, we've got company." Charles said as he walked out of the glass door, I walked through all the junk on the floor and outside towards a black truck. 10k was jumping into the back, and helping the other girl get up. The two bags were already in the back, I shoved my bag on top of them, and climbed in.

I pointed to a small-ish hill in the middle of the yard next to the garage as Charles was walking toward the truck. I remembered ours.

"Charles, that's not a hill. It's a garage, there's an old Ute in there, and it's got extra gas containers strapped to the back." The others started getting into the back, and Charles opened the truck door for Roberta, and then ran over to the hill/garage. A blonde guy, either Mack or Murphy I assumed, helped the man with white hair into the back. A few minutes later I heard the groan of the old engine, and saw Charles driving it around the paddock, and then through the fence.
