Gunshots could be heard almost every second without fail. I grasped at my scarf, covering my face and hair. The long shirt covered my belly. It was almost time.
Then I saw her. Cassandra.
No, not her. Was it?
Wherever Cassandra was, the group would follow. Always.
Didn't she die?
I walked behind a small metal shed, unsure of what to do, or where to go.
A boom rang out over the town. A loud one. I slowly peered out of the shed, and saw Murphy, in a gold and black suit jacket and hat. Wherever Murphy went, they would follow. That's how it was, and how it would always be.
10k
My heart jumped.I felt Luke kick, and move towards my spine.
"Ah! You little bastard!" I exclaimed, after another kick to the ribs.
I held my gun with a white knuckle grip as I silently walked out of the shed. Guns were still going off, and people that weren't shot in the head were...well, still around.
And then I saw him.
Lying on the ground. Not moving.
My happiness turned to dread. He moved. I shot up from my stance, and ran to help him. I shook him by his shoulders until he came to, groggily.
I cupped his face, staring into his eyes and smiled.
"10k!"
He sat up, looked around the area, and slowly stood up. I stood with him. Covering my face with the red and brown scarf that protected me from view, and his eyes fell to my stomach.
Ready to pop.
Gunshots still rang out, and I heard Docs voice get closer, as 10k brought his hand to touch the side of my abdomen, just as Luke kicked at my flesh. He gasped, and smiled, as the world slowed down for that one second. Then searing pain.
I looked to my left, and saw someone standing far away with their gun in the air. I looked down at my light blue jeans, the same ones I'd stolen, and saw the blood trickle down my leg and into my boot. I felt myself fall, and tried to cradle my stomach to no use.
Consciousness came and went. I saw 10k, and Warren, but not much else. I was on my back, covered in my own blood, bleeding out.
10k cradled me, as the others stood around, just silently watching. Tears made streaks in his dirt-covered face as they ran down his cheeks. I smiled up at him, as he pressed his hand to another wound I hadn't felt before. One going into my stomach. I realised too late the consequences of the damage.
I put my hand up to his face, and moved his het black hair away from his eyes. To make sure he watched as I scribbled words into the dirt, I moved my whole body onto my side.
Scrawled in bloody handwriting, love you.
The white light took everything, yet I still heard what they said.
"I will NOT mercy her, I won't do it!" 10k screamed. I heard the anguish in his voice.
Time passed, I didn't turn, I heard more screams, more punching, gunshots and an engine. I was in the back of a truck, and I felt a cold hand pick up my limp wrist.
And bite.-
I came to. 10k leaned over anxiously.
"How long was I out?" I asked him weakly.
"Two days. Doc fixed you up pretty well." He looked up, to Doc who was sitting up in the back of the truck.
I pulled myself up, and instantly began vomiting, which earned more concerned looks from the both of them.
10k put his arm around my shoulders, as I looked down to my stomach. I rubbed a hand over where Luke kicked the most, but felt nothing, increasing my concern.
I found out quickly, I'd soon find out if he was dead or alive. My water broke.
