"Yes Ms. Warren, the lasagna your son presented was unreal. The flavors were so rich and explosive, we'd love to have him." The Woman says
"I know, I'm telling him first thing in the morning I Can't believe this!" She shouts
"Thank you for your time Mam have a nice day." The Woman says hanging up
The Mom...you know what ima just give her a name, Maya cheers with happiness, "My boy!" She shouts happily as the door is knocked on
She seems confused and looks at the time:
12pm.
"Who..." She begins before walking over to the door and opening it, "AH!!!"
It's revealed to be Jamari's father Darius who laughs and picks up Maya as she laughs, "I got the call over the phone! Our boy is going to culinary school!" Darius shouts
"I know!" Maya shouts
The two parents embrace in a kiss and then the door is knocked on again, "Who is that at this time of night." He says
"Really?" She asks
"Yeah yeah." He responds opening the door only to be pistol whipped to the ground as multiple masked men enter and Maya screams
This wakes up Jamari suddenly as he gets up grabs a bat and walks out, he swings it like crazy knocking down a few men.
But he's shot in the leg, Jamari falls to the ground as his mom screams, "Shut the fuck up bitch!" A goon shouts slapping the butt of the gun against his mom to the ground
Jamari holds his wound and looks up seeing his father being beaten, the man stands over Jamari and tilts his head, "Mari." The Man says snapping, The family is tied up around each other each sporting injuries, "Mari...Mari...Mari...you interfered with my business, I can't allow that."
"Allow these nuts nigga." Jamari says looking down, The Man slaps Jamari, "You hit like a bitch."
The Man sighs, "Kids these days...Look Jamari...you have two choices...either your beautiful mother dies." The Man says caressing the mother's face with the gun, "Or Your Brave dad..." The man slaps Darius, "The choice is yours."
"I won't choose you'll just kill us all anyway." He says
"Wow is everyone reading my mind today?" The Man asks, "Whatever...choose Jamari...Choose."
"I choose...I choose..." Jamari says
The Man raises his eyebrow as Jamari looks at him slowly.
"Ya Mama." Jamari says
He's shot through the head.
His Mom calls out her son's name a couple times but each time they get more muffled and more hard to hear completely and eventually it's just unhearable.
Jamari is seen in an expanse, he looks up its shiny and beautiful, he looks below its dirty and dark. He obviously begins to float up towards the white expanse.
"Wait don't you want revenge?" A voice calls out.
Jamari stops, he looks down at the red expanse only seeing a pair of red eyes.
"What?" He asks
"Revenge? Being killed infront of your parents by a mysterious gang must hurt. And to make it worse your parents are about to suffer your fate." The eyes say.
Jamari glares with anger, "Revenge?" He asks
"Yes...Sadness is the worst injury don't you think?" The eyes say, Jamari floats back down towards the red eyes, "I'll give you the power to bring your killer to justice, do we have a deal?"
