Now we have it all

AN: I'm changing the way I write this fanfic and all my fanfics now. It's not going to be in anyone's "POV" anymore. it'll just be from the general pov. You'll see what I mean with this fanfic, or you already know what I mean if you read my fanfic "Christmas Miracle." Enjoy!!

"Have you told Derek yet?" Alex asked Meredith when they were at work on Sunday. Derek had been in D.C. over the weekend, and he wasn't really home to ask what happened in the ER since he had left Thursday evening to fly out to D.C.

"No, I haven't. You can't just come out and say that kind of thing. Plus, he's coming home in a few hours anyways, so i'd figure I would tell him tonight." She responded back.

"So i'm the only person who knows besides April?" Alex asked.

"Well, i'm sure April told Jackson, even though doctor patient confidentiality, because he's been looking at me weird ever since."

"I don't know what to tell ya kid, but i'm very proud of you."

"Thanks I guess. I'm very proud of you too. You are getting pretty serious with Rachel huh?"

"Yeah, she's pretty great. She's been kinda weird lately though. Very distant." 

"I'll page her later and talk to her. She's been pretty distant with me too which is weird, usually she's always on top of me asking to scrub in on surgeries or something."

"Well let me know."

"I will, don't you worry."

Meredith talked to Rachel, a few hours later. She promised Meredith that she would talk to Alex later. Rachel wouldn't tell Meredith what was wrong, but convinced her that she would talk to him. Meredith went to pick Derek up from the airport, and they went straight home.

"So I have a present for you." Meredith said to Derek.

"Oh, you do?"

"I do. Here." Meredith said as she handed Derek a yellow bag, stuffed with white tissue paper.

Derek opened it and it was an empty tan envelope that they use for patient files at the hospital.

"An empty file?"

"Yes. Look inside."

Derek took a second to read through the nameless file and look at the lab results.

"HCG levels are elevated. Your patients pregnant. Jeez Mer, I thought we taught you that years ago."

Meredith laughed a little. "I know, I am very capable of reading lab results. Turn the file around and look at the name in the name slot."

"Meredith Shep- You're pregnant?"

"Mhm." Meredith shook her head yes and started to get tears in her eyes. "We're having another baby."

Derek pulled her into a hug, and kissed the top of her head. "I feel like an ass now." Derek said with a slight laugh. "I love you."

"I love you. Alex and April already know, well I mean they kinda knew before I even did. But no one else does and I would like to keep it that way."

"That's what I had in mind."

With that, they finished their night out like usual, dinner, playing with the kids, and then the whole family went to bed.
