Tae was walking down the corridor, avoiding how everyone was looking at him. Tae was walking with his head bowed down and his shoulders curling over his chest. A pathetic attempt to make himself invisible. he looked up slightly to watch after hearing laughter coming from direction he was going in. He recognized the voices. Before Tae could turn around to go to different direction. A voice stopped him.
''Tae, wait ''
Tae stopped , couldn't help but watch Lyla coming towards him with expressions of ..worry. And behind her was Heesung walking towards them with their other friends...They all are looking like as if they are holding their laughter, while Heesung is looking so smug. Many other kids have stopped walking and stood there to watch the scene unfolding.
To tell you the truth, this is not the first time they are meeting after the incident. In case of Lyla, yes she was absent for days but Heesung and others were there , laughing and throwing subtle insults in his way. He didn't look like he even understand what he did to Tae. So now Lyla is back , they all have chance to come to his classes and it is going to be so hard.
"Tae, oh my god, I wanted to talk to you so bad, are you okay?" Lyla came in front of him.. Tae looked at her face ,so confused at her behavior, is she worried? why? Lyla wasn't there when he broke up with Heesung..
Lyla placed her hands on his shoulder which made him flinch. She is shorter than him but today , Tae is feeling so small. He felt her strengthening her grip on his shoulder. But her eyes were.. kind. Tae felt shiver run down his body, he tightly held his files in his arms trying to shield himself.
" Tae, I'm really sorry what happened with you. I can't believe Heesung really did it"
"I'm right here" Heesung interrupted and exchanged amused glances with his friends.
Lyla gave him playful stern look. and turn to Tae again, It was getting hard for Tae for be there anymore. He felt nauseating...and hard to breathe.
" I think I should go-"
"Wait" Lyla raised her voice , which made him freeze.
"Tae, I just wanted talk . I was trying to reach you and you ignored me-" she is lying
"-I was so worried about you , I thought we were friends ,but no , may be I was the only who felt it, I just went away for some time , and this happened , I can't believe , I was calling you but ignored me-" why is she lying?
"-but today I will say ,you cannot ignore me, I am your friend . What happened with Heesung, you cannot ignore me, I know you will hate me because I told you that I always loved Heesung but you made him, your boyfri--OH MY GOD-" Lyla covered her mouth , her cheeks were flushed. She looked like an angle who did something wrong "accidently".
But she is lying , she never told me that .
She looked back and forth between me and Heesung and looked around chewing her lips.. Tae looked around, kids were looking at him with hesitation and hostility , they were whispering and murmuring something...
Before Tae could understand anything , he lost his grip on his files and they dropped down , spread all over. His face was pale , beads of sweat formed on his forehead , he crouched down and started gathering his stuff with trembling hands. He felt tears gathering in his eyes. He tried to hold tears and control his breathing.
