Chapter 19 - Rabbits and surprises!

Wei Ying wanted to make Lan Zhan happy, and his mind starting to run again like he used to. Wei Ying is really good with his hands so, after his class, he would be seen near the falls, carving on a wood.

Lan Zhan noticed it and his feet always send him to where that child is. Lan Zhan noticed that Li Ying will always comes to the falls after he write the rules as his punishment. From afar he would be observing the child and just stand there for hours until the child left. Lan Zhan felt weird for some reason as to why he feels and his actions are like this. He should be ashamed for doing this because he's like stalking a child.

Little did Lan Zhan knows, Wei Ying knew of his presence. While Wei Ying carves, he would feel the prickling gaze of Lan Zhan behind his head. It makes him nervous. Because of Lan Zhan, Wei Ying often makes a mistake to his carving.

"Lan Zhan... You're making this hard for me. As much as I want to be in your presence right now, I want to finish this first!" Wei Ying thought with a sigh and pout. If Lan Zhan didn't stop on watching him, he would be force to make the gift inside his designated room. It was supposed to be a secret! Lan Zhan will spoil his gift! Dang it!

Lan Zhan was still observing Li Ying when his brother, Lan Xichen came. But Lan Xichen was not alone. Lan Zhan noticed their presence. He put his attention to them but his eyebrow furrowed when he saw the man beside his brother. Even though he doesn't want to acknowledge them, he still needs to be respectful they are both a sect leader, much to his dismay. "Xiongzhang, Sect Leader Jiang, greetings."

"What are you doing here, Wangji?" Lan Xichen asked and then his eyes went to the child who was near at the forest. Jiang Cheng crossed his arms and looked at Lan Zhan with a frown.

"Could it be that you're stalking the child, Lan Wangji? Is that how should Hanguang Jun act?" Jiang Cheng commented in a mocking tone. Lan Zhan didn't like it but he was right. But as if he would admit it. He just kept silent and looked at Li Ying. For some reason, his anger subsided.

Jiang Cheng was surprised that Lan Zhan didn't say anything towards him. Well, it's not like Lan Zhan was a person who say anything. He'll jist look at you with indifference look and then he would walk away. But the past few months, just his mere presence makes Lan Zhan leave then ignore his brother and him, which deemed rude but what can he say... Lan Zhan blames him for the death of Wei Ying. Well, he has a right to blame him. He indeed killed Wei Ying with his own hand. He blamed him for the death of his sister but instead she lives so does his brother-in-law.

"Wangji, I hope you will come to my and Jiang Cheng's wedding," Lan Xichen started and looked at Jiang Cheng who was now looking down on the stoned floor.

Lan Zhan flinched and looked at the two. It's just 6 months since Wei Ying's death and they are both thinking of getting married? How dare they think about their own happiness when Wei Ying is stuck in the underworld without knowing if he's going to get reborn or not. "Is Xiongzhang asking if I will give my blessing?"

Lan Xichen looked at Lan Zhan's reaction. He could see the anger in his eyes and even the coldness on his presence. He already know... Lan Zhan is unwilling to give his blessing. Jiang Cheng robbed him his happiness so why should he be happy for him? He knows that Lan Zhan was angry even though he appears emotionless in other people's eyes. But he could see it. He could read his brother's expression like an open book. "Wangji, Jiang Cheng and I wanted to be happy."

"Xiongzhang can do what he wants. But this one... Cannot give his blessings," Lan Zhan said and bowed. Lan Zhan knows that he is being too much and selfish, but what can he do? We was still hurt and broken by the fact that his Wei Ying already left because of Jiang Cheng. He didn't even give Wei Ying a chance to explain himself.
