Chapter 9: Xian-gege's Sacrifices

Wei ying woke up with nightmares of the past. He doesn't know why but he was very nervous about the naming ceremony. He sat down and sighed then looked at Lan Jingyi who is sleeping sloppily and Wen Yuan sleeping beside him peacefully and orderly. He smiled when he saw his little radish is peaceful. It was already 4:30 in the morning and he decided to bathe and prepare himself. After that he decided to go to the back mountains of cloud recesses where he left the bunnies in Lan Zhan's care. But he was surprised to see a lot of bunnies around making it a small haven for them.

"I didn't know that Lan Zhan still keep you. Did you grew to a large numbers? There is so many of you," Wei Ying said with a smile on his face. When the bunnies noticed his presence, they all went to him. He smiled and saw down before patting them one-by-one. "Good morning everyone."

But he didn't noticed footsteps that coming or more like he knew the footsteps belong to. Wei Ying smiled and picked up the black bunny who was chomping some grass. The black rabbit that he gave Lan Zhan the time they are still young and learning. Wei Ying faced the newcomer with a smile on his face. The latter tried not to tear up or more like even if he teared up there will be no tears.

"Wei... Gongzi..." Wei Ying's smiled broadened  when he heard that call. Wen Ning walked in front of Wei Ying and kneeled. "Wei Gongzi... Y-you..."

"It's been a while, Wen ning. You've become dashing," Wei Ying joked at pat Wen Ning shoulders a lit of times. Wen Ning closed his eyes. His lips trembled.

"Wei Gongzi... You're ba-back? Why are you..."

"It's a long story. Right now I am assuming the identity if a little boy who shares the same name and surname like mine. But when I entered Cloud Recesses, my named changed into Li Ying by my so-called parents," Wei Ying  explained. He nodded and looked down. He smiled. He missed Wen Ning, grandma Wen, Uncle Four and Wen Qing. The family he had for a short time. Wen Ning's eyes widened and looked at Wei Ying and stood up. He hold his hand and was about to pull Wei Ying with him.

"Wei Gongzi, you need to go to Hanguang Jun-"

"Wen Ning, I don't want Lan Zhan to know!" Wei Ying pulled his hand away from Wen Ning. His heart is pounding. Wen Ning's eyebrow furrowed. Clearly confused why he doesn't want Lan Zhan to know about him being alive.

"Why Wei Gongzi did you know that-" Wei Ying cut him off again. He doesn't want to hear Wen Ning saying that Lan Zhan was looking for him to condemn him.

"Lan Zhan can't know, Wen Ning. It's better if he doesn't know." Wen Ning don't understand but he just nodded and respect Wei Ying's decision.

"Okay, Wei Gongzi. I won't tell anyone," Wei Ying smiled and put the bunny down. He then saw the dawn painted the sky. It's almost all of the Gusu Disciples are starting to wake up. Wei Ying looked at Wen Ning with a smile.

"Wen Ning, I'll go back to the room. Lan Jingyi might bully Wen Yuan if I am not around him." Wen Ning smiled and nodded.

"You still care for Ah Yuan, Wei Gongzi." Wei Ying laughs and nodded.

"Of course, he's my little radish but now older than me. Anyways, don't call me Wei Gongzi if there are a lot of people around. Call me Ah Ying like Ah Yuan called me," Wei Ying said. Both hands were on his waist. Wen Ning was surprised and shakes his head.

"Th-that's improper!" Wei Ying pouted.

"It's much more improper if you called me like that! I'm the younger one! Also, don't call me Li Gongzi or I will be very mad!" Wei Ying said and crossed his arms. Wen Ning looked down unable to decide if he will do it or not. Then, in the end, Wen Ning nodded in agreement.

"Okay, Ah Ying!" Wei Ying smiled and nodded. He then walked away after saying goodbye to Wen Ning. When he arrived at the dormitory, he saw that many people are looking at their room. His eyes squinted. What did Lan Jingyi do again? He pushed the other young disciple like him and went inside the room. He was surprised when he saw Lan Jingyi on top of Wen Yuan scratching his face. He immediately pulled Lan Jingyi from Wen Yuan.

"What is happening?!" Wei Ying exclaimed. He saw Lan Jingyi tearing up and Wen Yuan looking down, holding his face. He sighed and massaged his temples. This two... he will grow old fast. "So? You're not going to answer me?"

"This time it's not me! I am preparing myself but then he said mean things!" Lan Jingyi said angrily and pointed at Wen Yuan. The latter looked at him with a glare.

"You're saying bad things to Xian-gege! You don't even know him for you to judge him!" Wen Yuan retorted. Wei Ying sighed and pat Wen Yuan's head.

"Ah Yuan, what Lan Jingyi said about the Yilling Patriarch is tru-"

"Ah Ying, you too? I believed that you also think highly of Xian-gege! You don't know the sacrifices he made for my family!" Wen Yuan said and tears started to flow down his cheeks. He was frustrated and sad when the person he trust the most doesn't believe what he says. Wei Ying pursed his lips. Of course, he knows! He knows how hurt he was when he said to Jiang Cheng that he will defect from his clan to protect the Wens. Willing to sacrifice his own just to protect the people who need him the most. "He... He... choose not to eat for me to get my fill, choose not to sleep to scare the bad spirits away, play with me even if he is tired, and died for us to live in peace. Is he really the bad person? Even if I am a child, I know that Xian-gege didn't want to die! He wanted to go to that person!"

"Ah Yuan! S-S-Stop!" He was going to get exposed by Wen Yuan. He always told him how much he misses Lan Zhan and tells him how much he loved him. Wei Ying hold Wen Yuan's hand but the latter slapped him away.

"Don't touch me! I hate you!" Wei Ying's heart was broken when he heard it. A-Ah Yuan hates him? Wei Ying's eyes teared and pursed his lips. No! Ah Yuan can't hate him. He hugged him despite Wen Yuan's push.

"I'm sorry! Yes, Ah Yuan's Xian-gege is kind! Ah Yuan's Xian-gege loves him and is precious to him. I believe in Ah Yuan's Xian-gege that he is the kindest of them all!" Wei Ying said and cried. He became a crybaby. Wen Yuan hugged him back. This child is still under the shadow of Wei Ying's former self.

Lan Jingyi pursed his lips and felt alone. He doesn't have real friends and those children who were with him only put up with him because... he is the grandson of one of the Elder. But only the adopted one. His parents left him in front of the gates of the Cloud Recesses. They took pity on him and the elder take care of him. He was jealous. Jealous of other children who had their parents with them and he was annoyed by Wei Ying and Wen Yuan because he saw that they were so very loved by the family they had. He was a jealous child. He just wanted to have a family. To a family, he will say he belonged.

When Wen Yuan said that he was adopted, he was hurt so he said bad things to Wen Yuan Xian-gege. Even he was amazed by the Yiling Patriarch. Hanguang Jun told him about who is Yiling Patriarch and what his good deeds are. He was wrong about the man but he won't admit it in front of the two children. He was a coward to admit to his fault.

"I'm sorry," Wen Yuan said. Lan Jingyi was surprised when he heard Wen Yuan apologize. Lan Jingyi looked at him before looking away.

"You- hmph!" He turned away and said nothing. He was about to walk away but he look back and saw Wen Yuan and Wei Ying smiling and depending on each other. If he was a good kid, will he become their friend? His first family?

A/n: hmmm... Jingyi, why not become Jin Ling's family instead? Wahahahaa I really Love Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling together. Maybe I am just really attracted to opposite attract tropes or enemies to lovers...  Welp, I might publish a short story for these two... I'm still thinking of the title... but I already have the two chapters.

I might also publish my OG story... RED STRINGS is the title and it was omegaverse... well Who doesn't want omegaverse? Hahaha anyways see you soon lovelies! I might update later or soon, I don't know... hehehe always take care lovelies!
