★ Dmitriy's pov:-
As I laid eyes on Cody, his grim expression told me something was terribly wrong.
"What happened?" I asked, my tone laced with concern.
"Sir, we received intel that someone breached Ma'am's apartment," Cody replied, his voice low and serious.
I felt a surge of unease. "What do you mean? Was it a robbery?"
"No, sir. It seems they were specifically targeting her. When they didn't find her, they vandalized the apartment." Cody's words sent a chill down my spine.
Switching to Russian, I asked, "Have you informed anyone about this incident?"
"Нет, sir. Not yet. I'm awaiting your instructions," Cody responded, ensuring Aria remained oblivious to our conversation.
"Did you uncover anything else?" I pressed on.
Cody nodded gravely. "Yes. Not only did they break in, but they also left messages. It appears they wanted to convey a threat."
He handed me his phone, and the image on the screen made my blood run cold.
I stood frozen, my eyes fixed on the chilling message scrawled across Aria's living room wall in bold, crimson letters: "I'm coming to get you." The words seemed to pulsate with malevolence, sending a shiver down my spine.
"It's blood," Cody confirmed, his voice laced with gravity. "Whoever did this wanted to leave a lasting impression."
My mind racing, I processed the sinister implications. A stalker was after Aria, and he had been in her home.
"We need to inform her brother and uncle," I decided, my tone firm. "Tell them she's staying here for now."
"Yes, sir," Cody responded. "What about her security?"
"I'll handle it personally," I assured him. "I'll stay here until this is resolved. Deploy additional men to her apartment and increase surveillance. Ensure her safety at all costs."
And, most crucially: "Keep this from Aria. I won't have her frightened further."
Cody nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.
I clenched my jaw, fury and fear warring within me. Great, just great . Another fucker in now after my little princess.
My gaze drifted to her, and our eyes met. Her curious expression told me she sensed something was amiss. I forced a reassuring smile, masking the turmoil brewing inside.
For the first time, fear gripped me. Fear of losing her, fear of failing to protect her.
I turned back to Cody, my tone low and resolute. "Ensure everything is in place. I want double the security, triple-check all access points. No one gets near her."
With instructions issued, I steeled myself to face Aria. She'd be surprised, concerned, and would undoubtedly have questions about the sudden change in plans.
Taking a deep breath, I entered the room, my expression neutral. Aria's inquiring gaze met mine, and I knew the conversation ahead would be crucial.
