★Author's pov;-

Aria's hand rested in his, their fingers intertwined. Her eyes locked onto his, and tilted her head discreetly toward her room. "I was just about to get my book," she whispered. "I'll be right back in a moment."

The gentle release of her hand followed, his fingers slipping away as embarrassment flickered across his face. Misinterpreting her gesture, he thought she was leaving him, his expression betraying a fleeting vulnerability.
But Aria's intention was far from departure.

Aria returned, her arms laden with a captivating book, laptop, and a few indulgent chocolate bars. Her gaze met Dmitriy's, his eyes softening as he watched her approach.

He had shifted to his side, creating a inviting space beside him on the couch. Despite the expansive room filled with plush seating options, he desired her proximity. His clinginess wasn't typical, but today's brush with mortality had shaken him. The closeness they shared now was a comforting reminder of life's preciousness.

Today's mission had almost ended in tragedy. Dmitriy's memories of the ordeal were hazy, but one image remained etched in his mind - Aria's face. As consciousness slipped away, her features were the last thing he recalled.

Thanks to his trusted second-in-command, Dmitriy was pulled from the rubble of the destroyed building. The rescue operation had been a success: thirty girls and the scientist were freed, but at a cost. Dmitriy and five team members bore injuries, a reminder of the risks they took.

Despite the setbacks, their mission yielded crucial progress. They were closing in on their target - the mastermind behind the human trafficking ring and the man behind everything that's happening.

Aria settled beside Dmitriy, her hands overflowing with treasures: laptop, books, and chocolate bars. As she arranged her belongings, a sheepish grin spread across her face.

"Sorry, I need to eat something," she admitted, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Instead of diving into her book, Aria's curiosity soon took over. She closed the cover, her gaze drifting to Dmitriy's profile.

"Amm, can I ask you what happened?" she inquired, her brow furrowed with concern.

Her mind whirled with questions, a hallmark of her inquisitive nature. Secretly, she reasoned, "I need to know what's going on with this handsome human."

Dmitriy's enigmatic presence only intensified her curiosity.

Dmitriy's response was concise. "I had to go on a mission last night. Nothing serious."

Aria's curiosity lingered. "Was it successful?" she asked, sensing the weight of his undertaking.

"It was," he replied briefly.

Aria nodded, acknowledging the unspoken boundaries. She understood that some secrets were meant to remain hidden.

But her fascination with his world couldn't be contained. "You know, I was wondering... secret agents, undercover missions - it must be cool, right?" Excitement danced in her tone as she settled into a cross-legged pose, pillow cradled in her lap.

Her gaze met Dmitriy's defined profile, and for a moment, she forgot about the danger that came with his job.

Dmitriy turned, his eyes locking onto hers, sparkling with amusement. "Well, sweetheart, I don't know about that, but punching bad guys and saving the day - it sure sounds cool." A hint of a smile played on his lips.
