Hi Guys, I'm going to make this short since my battery is dying. I promised to fill in the gaps with Nari, and Fenrir but that will be the next chapter. Sorry I changed my mind on that one.
How do you guys feel about the name Cara if it's a girl. NightshadeQuinn suggested it. Comments are welcome, and other names too, for both a boy and a girl. I can't decide what gender I want yet.
.
“Nessa, wake up. Nessa wake up." A voice whispered to me. I groaned and snuggled closer into my blankets. The person sighed and I heard them shift on their feet. “Nessa, Nessa, Nessa, Nessa, Nessa, Nessa. Nes-"
I whirled around as fast as I could and threw my pillow. “What?!" I screamed at a satisfied looking Nate. He rolled his eyes at me, and pulled the blankets away. “It's time to get up baby, we have people coming today from another realm. Important people." He reminds me as I pout still in bed.
“The baby says no." I mumbled and laid back down. Nate sighed from the other room and I smiled feeling as if I had won.
I felt the bed shift and Nate's warm body heat enveloped me. His hand slowly made its way down my back and I wiggled trying not to show weakness. “If you don't get up I'll have to take drastic measures." He mumbled in my ear.
I smiled and snuggled into the pillow. “Okay you asked for it." He said before my underwear got yanked so far up my ass I screeched. “What the hell!"
“Get up or you've got worse coming your way." He called strolling to the bathroom. I huffed. “You can't freaking give a pregnant woman a wedgie!" I yelled following him into the bathroom. He shrugged his shoulders and slipped off his boxers before climbing into the shower.
I glared at his back and walked away. Then I spotted the toilet. I got an evil look on my face and shook the handle a couple times for good measure.
“Owww, why is the water cold!" Nate screamed like a girl. I snickered and ran out of the bathroom.
.
“How did you sleep last night?" Nate asked me as we walked hand and hand down the hall. I sighed in exhaustion, I had only one nightmare last night. But the baby was positioned weirdly so I had trouble getting comfortable.
“I got a good few hours, better than last night." I say biting back a yawn. Nate nodded not saying a word. “I know you were tossing and turning for most of the night. You know you can tell me if something is bothering you." He said as we turned the corner.
I nodded and smiled at his concern. My nightmares were steadily going down to one every other night. They varied from Thanos and The Other's torments.
It wasn't so much what Thanos did to me, it was the evils that he committed against others. Having that insight into his mind, seeing what he did... scarred me. I never will be able to unsee the lives that he torn apart.
I'm only glad that I ended Thanos's reign of terror when I did. I wouldn't forgive myself if anyone else was impacted by his actions when I had the chance to stop him.
“Here they are!" Someone exclaimed. I looked up and saw that four people, five feet away were waiting for us. A large man with a beer belly and rosy cheeks held his arms out in welcome. “King Nathan, it has been a while my friend." He greeted Nate with a friendly hug.
He turned to me and I smiled kindly. “Queen Nessa it is a pleasure to finally meet you." He says as he pulls me into a hug. His body is soft like a giant teddy bear so I don't mind hugging him.
“Forgive me, I am King Byron of the third realm." He introduced himself. I nodded and he turned to the woman beside him and she stepped up. “My Queen Elena." He said kissing her cheeks. She smiled softly and took my hand.
I shook it and she moved to the side. Two teenagers a couple of years younger than me stepped up. A boy and a girl. “These are my children. Eldrig, and Erik." Eldrig curtsyied and Erik bowed. “Your majesty." they echoed.
I felt awkward still not used to being bowed to.
“Oh, you are expecting?" Queen Elena noticed. I nodded a bit caught off guard and Byron clapped Nate on the back. “Congratulations my friend." He bellowed. Queen Elena linked arms with me and started to walk.
“Let us leave the men to their talks, they will spend hours talking about what men usually like." She said turning down the walkway that led to the garden.
Elena looked like a motherly person, someone you felt you could trust. And she was so easy going so I decided to confide in her. “I have a question, if that's alright?" I start to say. She nods so I continue.
“Is being pregnant always this tiring?" I ask her feeling exhaustion deep in my bones. She laughed softly before nodding. “Yes... it is often exhausting carrying a child. Eldrig and Erik are twins. After them I told Byron no more." She joked.
I smiled finally knowing I wasn't the only one. “Do you know what you will be having?" She asked. I shook my head, truthfully I didn't want to know. But I knew Nate was biting his lip everytime he wanted to ask.
“I don't really want to know, but Nate does. I should just have my nurse for the baby just tell him what it is." I said really considering it. “I think you might be having two girls." She said stopping and looking at me.
I shook my head, “Oh no... Not two, just one." I said looking at her like she had four heads. She nodded smiling widely. “I'm never wrong." She said before continuing our walk.
.
Later after King Byron, and Queen Elena had left and everyone had retired to bed that night I was still thinking about her telling me it would be twins.
I sat in bed staring down at my tummy in shock, what if I was having twins? Double the diapers, night feedings, clothes, babies, so much crying-
“Babe? Have you heard any thing that I've said?" I looked up and Nate was standing shirtless in his pajama pants. I smiled sheepishly and he sighed. “I know you, and I know you when you're stressed. So tell me, or I'm gonna tickle it out of you." He tried to playfully glare at me as he climbed onto our bed.
I sat back with my hands still on my belly. “What if there's two in here?" I ask him. I watch his face for any type of expression. He raises both his eyebrows in thought before he shrugs his shoulders. “I wouldn't mind. Why do you ask?" He crawls between my legs and rests his head on his arms.
I bite my lip, “Elena, says that were going to be having two girls." I say feeling very overwhelmed. He laughs and shakes his head, “Then I guess we're going to be the parents to two little girls." He says placing his hands on my tummy.
I sit in shock, “You believe her!" I exclaim. Nate looks at me like I'm crazy and nods. “Elena has been predicting births since she was a little girl. And she's never gotten one wrong." He says with thorough confidence.
I look down at his hands and feel little kicks. The first kicks I've felt today, “Oh come on, now you too." I groan. Nate laughs and rubs his hand on the spot where the baby just kicked me.
“We'll go see the doctor in the morning." He promised me as he climbs into bed next to me. I nod and lay on my left side. He wraps an arm around my stomach and turns off the light before settling behind me.
I close my eyes and try to go to sleep, but all I can think is that I'm screwed. I can't take care of two babies. Sure I've watched Malin but that's different, what if I hurt them, what if I don't know what to do, what if they hate me?
“Nessa, go to sleep." Nate mumbles half asleep from behind me. I shut my eyes and he laces his hand into mine. The familiar calm that I'm so used to feeling washes over me and I drift off to sleep
Hopefully this time with no night mares.
