Stranger In Past,Lover In Dream

CHAPTER-12 PRESENT

         The audience were all seated on  their respective seats with their name card on. The audience were all nominees and their families. Also the stars who were at the top of their game this year. The curtains were all ready to start the show. Everyone felt excited and ready.

The red curtain slowly goes up and reveals the grand golden stage, every best song nominee is going to perform their songs on stage. The host arrives from the left of the stage, it's none other than Jimmy Fallon.

"Everyone!!! Welcome to this year's grand ceremony of the Grammy awards"

The people started cheering and screaming and now it's time for the performance. Audience are chatting in excitement because this is the moment where he's going to finally reveal his identity.

The stage becomes lights out and a spotlight hits the centre stage. A mysterious figure is sitting on the chair and he slowly reveals his face.

"And here's the two time Grammy winner performing his third nominated song this year for all of you now, ASH!"

"No , I'm not gonna sing that song now. Instead I'm going to tell you a musical story filled with a lot of music and dreams, will ya hear it?", ash shouted.

"Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!", the crowd reacted.

"One day I woke up to a dream, a magical dream and remembered nothing that happened to me in that dream...."

Then ash narrated the story and sang songs in between for an hour and then he went away finishing his performance!

Then after all the awards, it was the main time of the show, the award for the best song of the year. All the nominees were dreaming of winning this award, it was the dream for every artist since the day they fell in love with music.

The presenters came onto the stage and they were given the winner name card . Then they said," it's ash, for his song 'The letter Z' ". Ash walked to the stage and collected his award from the presenters.

"Yeah, not the first time holding this one but this one is special for me because I won it for my most personal song to this date. I made it for someone who I met before a few years and I even narrated you guys that whole story during my performance earlier, just thanks to her" and then he was walking away from the stage until a guy screamed,"So what happened after she said her name?" .

Once she left in that train, I stayed on zuhalampur for one more year. I lived their and became a part of that town. I was running away from fame and started to sing in the streets of zuhalampur. But I felt as a pure musician than ever before and I won two Grammys for producing music for famous pop artist. I never even cared about coming to America to reserve the awards because my heart is not with fame, it was with her. I was waiting for so long, hoping that she will call me one day. But....I didn't know that she will never call me. I didn't know that I won't see her again probably. Maybe the whole dream was just taking me to myself, to become a better version of myself or truly find who I am. "

"You never went searching for her?"

"No, she said that she will call", ash laughed

"Atleast you went back to home? Or that studio in Chennai?"

"Yeah, I went to my house after a year.
Kind of got addicted to drugs, fell for the usual heart break tropes until one day... My mom was throwing stuffs away, that's when I saw my mom throwing a present to the garbage. I rushed to the garbage and took the present to my room. That was the present that Zephy gave me during Christmas and I never opened it. I slowly unveiled the present, it was a small laser light. I was disappointed, I thought it was just a childish present as a ninth grade child would give. At night , I sank into my never ending thoughts asusual but then I remembered the laser. I torches it to the celing...and it wasn't a normal laser, it said ' I LOVE YOU ASH ' .

The next day I packed everything I got and went to kanniyakumari. It was me and Mathew knocking at Zephy's house at midnight, no one answered the door. I slept on their doorstep for two days. I know they aren't here, but maybe someone will arrive in few days. But no one ever did! Then a guy woke me up and gave me some water and told me that they left the place four months ago, they went to Kerala."

"What you did???"

"You know what I would do! Just went to Kerala with Mathew, cigarettes were my only companions that were true to me. Still they too leave me in six minutes. Like she left me and she promised me that she will call me but where is she?"

"Where is she? Ash", asked a huge actor.

Everyone was totally invested in the story that ash was narrating in pain.

"I went to Kerala, and I found her parents and I asked them about her but they refused to answer me! Then I broke down and started to cry in agony and pain to them. I told them that I am truly destructing myself just for her and they said that she did the same for you. Then they told me what happened to her...once she came from zuhalampur, her parents forced her into the marraige and broke her phone, change her sim. They literally erased every way of her contacting me. Then eventually she agreed for the marriage and she was about to get married. Until she hanged herself on the marraige day".

"What the hell man?" , a guy screamed and teared up.

"Then they took her to the hospital and saved her life. She confessed to them that she can't bear the pain of marrying someone else instead of me and living a life with another person other than me. Then her parents understood her desire and allowed her to marry me. Then she actually came to see me in Chennai by finding my studio but I was at zuhalampur singing on the streets. Then she came back to home and she kind of became mentally unstable. She was slowly losing herself, so her parents tried moving places and then they settled in Kerala. One day she told them that she's going to somewhere to find peace and that she'll due if she doesn't do that. And she told them to not worry that she will think about me. She told them that I'm going somewhere too far, but I will call you often and be in touch. It's been a year so far her parents saw her the last time, no one really knows where she is right now!"

"So you never met her after that?"

"No...I actually met her one more time, she was still looking like an angel but I was looking like a lost shepherd in a desert, but can we all just move away from this broken story and move on to celebrate my win tonight?"

"Yeah sure"

"But I want to bring my wife onto the stage"

Then ash called a lady to the stage and they both hugged each other and he kissed her so passionately, they kissed for more than five minutes. But the audience were dissapointed as they were rooting for Zephy. Then ash whispered calmly in his collar mic,     " She was the one, my angel... My Zephy, My destiny. "

The whole crowd stood up and gave a huge applause. They all cheered so loud as if it was the greatest love story that they all have ever seen.

"But how did you find her?"

Ash and Zephy smiled.
