I wake up to the sound of someone knocking on my door. "What?" I yell angrily at who knows who. "Well, good morning to you, sunshine," the voice comes out in a whisper. "Carson, do me a favor and get the hell out of my room," I barked slowly as I stood up. He didn't listen and walked over to my curtains, parting them to let the morning sunlight into my room. Rubbing my eyes, I look up at him as he leaves, closing the door behind him. I stretch and walk over to my bathroom. "No wait," I mutter, turning around and walking back to the previous room, looking at the time. "Fuck— I'm late!"

Why the hell didn't he wake me up earlier, damn it Carson. I take a quick shower before going downstairs and see Carson and Natalia talking to each other, waiting for me. Probably. "We're going to be late because of you big brother," she starts but I cut her off, "Why didn't you wake me up earlier," I frown, eating a toast but still tying my shoes. "I was busy making breakfast," she argues, but my eyes are fixed on my best friend Carson. "I..." he begins, "Let's go," Lia chuckles and slaps my back. I shake her off and march to the door, not forgetting to grab my car keys and head outside. "Thank you," he whispers to her as if I were a deaf man.

"See you guys later," Natalia yelled as she ran to her class. "Well, sunshine, let's-"

"Don't call me that," I chuckled, giving him a light tap on the shoulder before putting him in a headlock. "Next time, remember to wake me when you get to my fucking house, all right?" I exhale as he taps my arm, begging for oxygen.Nodding in agreement, I release him as we make our way to the classroom. First period, English, I want to go home already. We are on our way into the classroom when Carson pushes me aside on his way to our desk. I follow him and notice a new face. A girl. She's pretty, I guess, as she gives me a curious look. "What?" she asks, looking into my eyes with those forest green irises. "Nothing redhead , welcome to the Velour Acade—"

"I have a name for your concern, it's Yelena... Katsaros," she sighs. I lean over to her, "Hold the fuck up. Yelena Katsaros as in...top student from the Venatrix Academy?"

"Well, if you aren't a smart one," she chuckles as I walk past her and reach Carson. Why the hell would they let someone from a rival academy into our academy? "Hey, Car?" He answers with a low hum that lets me know he's all ears. "You see that girl over there?," he nods, "go ask her which major she's in." He looks at me, waiting for the special word."Please..." I add.
