The bell rings to dismiss us. Now it is Social Studies, History. And not only Carson and Natalia, but also Yelena is acting strange. I just hope it's not Noah again. I left without them because they were the ones chosen to clean up this week. As I walk down the stairs, my eye catches Noah talking to Sofia. Then they both look at me. Whatever they're planning, I don't have time for it today. I pass them and notice that the bitch is following me. "What do you want, Van der Berg?" "Relax, handsome, we have history now," she replies, batting her eyelashes at me. I ignore her and make my way to the table in the back. And hey, just because I'm sitting in the back doesn't mean I'm not doing anything. The only two things I do every time I sit in the back is listen carefully to the teacher and concentrate on Yelena.
The moment I put my things down, I feel arms roaming around my waist down to my crotch. And those hands weren't Yelena's. She would never wear those ugly duck nails. Sighing, I turn to face Van der Berg.
"What?"
"I thought you might like to pick up where we left off after Yelena saw us," she says, her chest pressed against mine. She reaches for my crotch again, and this time I grab her arm and slam her down on the table.
"It will never happen, you disgust me," I bark and she presses her ass against my crotch.
"It happened once, then twice..how about we make it happen a third time?"
"Make the third time happen with Noah. Looks like he has a lot of interest in you," I say looking down at her. The frown on her face makes me happy, but only for a moment. The next thing I know, Sofia's lips are pressed against mine and I freeze, caught off guard. Her kiss is unexpected and unwelcome, but before I can react, I catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye. I pull back, my heart pounding, and look toward the door. Yelena is standing there, staring at us with her eyes wide open. Carson and Natalia are standing next to her, their expressions a mixture of shock and disbelief. But it's Yelena's face that sends a rush of guilt and panic through me. Her eyes are filled with hurt and betrayal, emotions that cut me to the core.
"Yelena, please listen to me!" I call, but she is already backing away, watching from a distance. Then Carson gives me a look I know all too well, while Natalia's gaze shifts between Sofia and me, her eyebrows knitted in anger. I push Sofia away, my frustration boiling over. "What the hell, Sofia? Why did you do that?" She looks taken aback, her cheeks flushing. "I thought... I mean, I thought you felt the same way. Last time at the party, you were all over me, telling me I was the only girl you loved, before Yelena came in," she says, sounding timid. However, her back is to them, so she gives me this evil grin and I want to slap it off her face. Yelena scoffs, turns away and disappears down the hall. "Well, you thought wrong," I snap, my mind racing. "You did this on purpose, didn't you?" Natalia yells, walking towards us and slapping Sofia. And I can tell it hurts because her right cheek is starting to turn a crimson color.
"Why can't you just leave him alone? I got it the first time, but now you're like a clingy ex!"
"Look who's talking. Want me to remind you what happened at the party?"
"You don't know shit, Van der Berg," Carson barks back.
" I don't give two flying fucks about whatever happened at the party. Tell Ms. Rodriguez that Yelena has a stomach ache and I took her to the infirmary," I say, glancing at Sofia before leaving the room.
