Uru's POV

We reached the rocky plains next to the cliff. Thunder crashes overhead, and lightning flickers in the clouds. As it continues to rain. The Outsiders form a battle line, while Zira climbs a tall rock. We to formed a line and Simba paces in front of us. I look a long the lion of outsiders and find her. Vitani, she looks just like her grandmother. I share a look with my duaghters and they nod their head.

"It's over, Simba! I have dreamed of nothing else for years!" Zira declares.

"Last chance, Zira: go home" Simba tells her.

"I am home" she states. "Attack!" she orders. The Outsiders rear onto their hind legs with a roar and start to head for us. We roar ourselves and head for them. As soon as we meet in the middle, the battle begins. "Go for the eye! Break his jaw! Get them, do what you must" Zira orders from her rock. I snarl, what a coward.

I look around and spot Vitani on a tall rock. Looking down on Nala.  "Where's your pretty daughter, Nala?" she asks.

"Vitani" Nala snarls. Vitani leaps down on Nala. The two roll, with Nala on top.

"No!" I shout and push her off. "She's Tama's daughter, our best friends daughter!" I snap a Nala. "I won't let you kill her" I state and turn to Vitani who looks surprised. "Vitani, you look just like your grandmother" I tell her softly. As I approach her.

"You're Uru" she states.

"Yes, I was your mother's best friend" I tell her.

"Zira is my mother" she states.

"No she's isn't, she killed your mother" I tell her. Looking into her eyes. "She may have raised you and Kovu. But she was not your birth mother. She only raised you, because Scar my father choose Kovu to be his heir. Even though he wasn't his son" I state. "Look in your heart Vitani, you know it's true. You were never meant to be an outsider, neither was Kovu. You both belong here in the Pride Lands, in the pride your mother was born into" I tell her.

"I don't know what to say" she mutters.

"Please help us end this pointless fight, come home" I plead.

"But my friends" she says looking around as the fighting stops around us. We see the prides circling around Simba and Zira. "I must go" she states and goes to join the outsiders. While Nala and I go stand with our pride.

Zira stalks in a slow circle around Simba. As he watches her every move. Zira rears onto her hind legs, lifting a paw. Simba rears onto his hind legs, lifting a paw. But before either could strike. Kovu and Kiara leap into the fray amidst a rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning. Landing in between Zira and Simba. "Kiara" Simba says shocked.

"Kovu, move" Zira sneers.

"Stand aside" Simba tells Kiara.

"Daddy, this has to stop" Kiara tells him firmly.

"You're even weaker than I thought. Get out of the way!" Zira snaps.

"You'll never hurt Kiara or Simba. Not while I'm here" Kovu growls. Lowering his head.

"Stay out of this!" Simba begs Kiara.

"A wise king once told me, We are one. I didn't understand him then. Now, I do" Kiara tells him with a smile.

"But they..." he tries to say.

"But nothing Simba!" I snap. "Look at them they are us" I tell him. Before looking at Vitani.

"What differences do you see?" Kiara asks him. The Outsiders look at one another uncertainly. Vitani continues to glare at Simba's pride but, after a moment, lifts her head and widens her eyes. Kiara and Simba exchange meaningful glances. Kiara smiles. Overhead, the clouds clear, and the sun shines down on the two prides. Simba looks up at the light. He smiles and embraces Kiara.

"Vitani, now!" Zira orders.

"No Zira!" she tells her. Vitani looks at Kiara, who smiles at her over one shoulder. Then at me and I nod my head encouragingly. Vitani looks back at Zira. "Kiara's right, enough" she states and goes to stand by Kovu facing Zira. The Outsiders exchange wondrous glances.

"If you will not fight, then you will die as well" Zira sneers. The Outsiders scowl at one another. The mutter to each other looking disgusted by Zira. The Outsiders walk towards our pride and join us. Zira orders them to return and they do not.

"Let it go, Zira. It's time to put the past behind us" Simba tells her.

"I'll never let it go!" she shouts. I notice the logs shift in the gorge behind her. "This is for you, Scar!" she declares. She launches herself at Simba.

"No!" I shout and tackle her away from him. Causing us both to go over the cliff. I hear my daughters shout out for me in alarm. Along with Kiara, Simba and Nala. Zira and I roll down the side of the gorge. They hit a ledge and break apart.

We free fall until we hit the wall. I extend my claws and slide down the cliff side. I land on a ledge, which Zira goes over. I hang precariously as Zira hangs below me. "Hold on mum!" I hear my girls shout from above.

"Simba, the river!" I hear Nala shout. I look over to see the dam had broken. The river is rushing down the gorge head straight for Zira and I. I manage to pull myself up onto the ledge and look down at Zira. I half comtemplated letting her fall. But I am not my father or her. I crouch down and offer her my paw.

"Zira, give me your paw" I tell her. She swipes at it with her claws out. I pull it away. Zira slips farther down the gorge, her claws leaving indentations in the rock. "Don't be so stubborn, I am trying to save you" I snap flattening my ears. "Now let me help you" I tell her. Offering her my paw again. Zira continues to slide down the gorge, leaving more claw marks in the rock. She looks over one shoulder at the river, clearly fearful.

"Zira, come on reach for me" I tell her as I stretch down farther. She looks up at me. Zira scrabbles uselessly at the rock wall. But she loses her grip and falls into the raging river below. I look at it in horror. Then bow my head, I had tried.

"Uru" Simba says. I look up to see him on a ledge above me with Zeus.

"Simba, I tried" I tell him sadly.

"I know" he says.

"Lets get you out of here" Zeus tells me offering me his paw. I accept it. Together all three of us climb back up. Watching out for each other, helping each other with the climb. Once we made it to the top. I was swarmed by my three girls.

"I'm ok" I assure them. As Simba spoke to Kovu. I thank Zeus and he just smiles. Before nuzzling Malkia, who licks his cheek fondly.

"I was wrong. You belong here" Simba tells  Kovu.

"As does your sister" I add as I smile at Vitani.

"Lets go home, all of us" Simba states looking at both prides. We all return to pride rock. A few days later, Kiara and Kovu married uniting both prides as one. They roared with Simba and Nala. The Pride Landers stamp the ground and wave their arms in approval. As we lions roar with our leaders. I notice Malkia nuzzling Zeus and smile. Perhaps I'll be a grandma soon. The sun shines through the clouds.

I look up at it. "I am proud of you Uru and I am sorry" I hear father say. I gasp in shock. "I love you" he says as A breeze carrying milkweed floss stirs around me. I love you to father I thinkI look around the pride, we are all one again. Under the circle of life. Could life get any better? I wonder to myself.
