Twelve Days Later

Twelve days after her birth, the Rathore Palace shimmered with celebration. Draped in flowers and lights, it looked nothing short of a festival. Guests flowed in, laughter echoed in the corridors, and the air was filled with music, the scent of sandalwood, and pure joy.

Inside the grand hall, the royal priest stepped forward and announced in a solemn voice,
"Ab ghar ke bade, Raajkumari ka naamkaran karenge."

Since she had no paternal aunt, the honor of the naamkaran was given to Dada Sa, the head of the Rathore family. With steady hands and misted eyes, he picked up the baby girl and whispered something softly in her ear before turning to the gathering.

"Ruhani Ranvijay Singh Rathore," he declared.

Applause erupted. The name was met with smiles, blessings, and pride. Ruhani - a soul that had already touched every heart in the palace.

The ceremony continued till the evening faded into a starry night. After the guests had departed and only the close family and friends remained, a peaceful calm settled over the palace.

In a quiet corner of the room, baby Ruhani lay in her crib, gurgling softly beneath a sheer canopy.

Just then, a boy around 8 years old tiptoed over and peered into her crib. He leaned close and whispered,
"Rooh..." as if the name was a secret between them.

It was none other than Agastya's son - his mischievous eyes glinting with curiosity and an innocent smile on his face.

Agastya walked over to Ranvijay with a smug grin and said,
"I can already see my future daughter-in-law."

Ranvijay instantly narrowed his eyes,
"No way in hell is my daughter marrying your son."

"Kyun? Kya kami hai mere bete mein?" Agastya retorted.

Ranvijay folded his arms, deadpan

"I just don't like your son."

Agastya didn't miss a beat,
"Pasand toh teri biwi ko bhi nahi tha tu... Phir bhi shadi hui na? Toh mere bete ki bhi hogi."

The room burst into laughter. Rumaisa, sitting nearby, rolled her eyes while hiding a smile.

"Nahi hogi," Ranvijay grumbled like a possessive father already imagining heartbreak.

"Let's bet on it," Agastya grinned.
"Record this, someone."

Phones came out instantly as the family cheered, laughing and teasing, the moment captured like a prophecy in the making.

Little Ruhani slept peacefully through it all - unaware that her heart already had a battle waged over it.

Night had wrapped the palace in quiet warmth. The moonlight spilled gently through the tall windows of their chamber, casting a silvery glow on the soft drapes that swayed slightly with the breeze.

Rumaisa gently placed Ruhani in her crib, tucking the little blanket around her delicate frame. The baby stirred, her tiny fists curled close to her chest. With a fond smile, Rumaisa turned and walked toward the balcony.

There, leaning against the railing, stood Ranvijay-silent, thoughtful, the breeze ruffling his hair as he stared into the night.

She stepped closer, slipping her arms around his waist from behind and resting her cheek on his back. "Sab kitne khush hai na..." she whispered, her voice a blend of peace and wonder.
