Chapter 14: Reservations

Two weeks later, Error's POV

I walk down the halls, checking on the kids as they sleep. I smile, finding both Goth and Raven asleep in bed. Then I go to Shino's room, finding her awake in bed. She smiles as she knits something in her lap.

"Ar3n'T y0u a n1gHt oWL?"I say

"I'm making something to keep your tail warm, Papa! It's getting colder now!"She says

I smile, nodding. I've gained a scaly tail that's grown longer each day and refuses to stay hidden. I can even hear it dragging across the floor behind me now. She runs over to me, slipping her crafted project onto my tail, surrounding my tail in soft warmth. I smile at her, hugging her gently.

"Are we ever going to see you without those gloves, Papa?"She asks

I sigh, looking at the gloves I knitted to cover my hands that have become sharp claws. Claws sharp enough to hurt them...

"WhEn i aM sUrE iT iS n0t g0iNg tO hUrT yOu. NoW, lEt'S gEt yOu tO sLeEp."I say, putting her in bed

I kissed her on the head gently and she dozed off. I flinch, glancing down when I see more scales climbing my left arm and leg. I frown, shaking my head as I shut the door to her room.

"Everything alright, darling?"Reaper asks, sneaking up behind me.

He hugs me gently and kisses me on the head.

"ThE cHaNgES wOn'T sToP aNd I doN'T kNoW wHaT's hApPeNiNg...NoT eVeN mY cOdE dOeS....I hAvE nO cOnTrOl oVeR tHiS...WhICh cAn bE dAngErOuS..."I say softly, not wanting the kids to hear.

I'm supposed to protect them from harm and know what to do. But how can I do that when I don't know SHIT and my hands are becoming claws that are too sharp to hold their hand in?!

"Aww, Glitchy...It will be okay, my darling. I promise. I know it will."He says

"HoW d0 y0u kn0w?"

"Because you're wonderful so anything that happens will be wonderful."He says

I have the urge to tell this idiot to shut up but know that he is only trying to comfort me. I have some doubts, but maybe it's better to just act with caution than to worry them. It'll make them happy.

So I nod. He leads me away with a smile, climbing into bed with me. A few days later was the "reservation", which had us waking up to an empty house. Shino left a note on the fridge for us, saying that they made plans with friends so that they don't get in the way. A portal is already open for us. I glance at Reaper and he gently takes my hand, leading me through the portal.

"Woah..."He says

We glance around, finding ourselves in a lobby.

"What's your reservation, Cloaked Bird?"A lady behind a desk says

"Ummm..."Reaper says

"ReApEr aNd Err0r."I say after checking the email for the details again.

"Ah, alright. You're cabin #5 and table #42 whenever you seek to dine. Please enjoy your time."She says, handing me a key.

I look at Reaper and he grins, quickly pulling me away to investigate and locate the cabin. We step inside the cabin, finding a pool where the living room would be.

"How did the kids manage this? Or afford it?"He asks

"ThEy'V3 eAch gr0wN iN c0d1nG sk1LlS. Th3y pr0bAblY f0uNd a WaY."

He grins, ditching his cloak to swim in the pool with only a pair of shorts on. He glances over and smiles, gesturing for me to join him. I code for my things to be set aside and for my clothes to turn into swim shorts. His jaw hangs open as he gazes at me. I step in carefully, noticing my tail scratch the steps.

"You're beautiful..."He says, seeming awestruck

I roll my eyes at him.

"Y0u aCt liKe tHiS iS tHe fIrSt tImE yOu'Re sEeInG mY bArE bOnEs."I say

"Cuz it is."He says

"DiDn'T yOu lItErAlLy WaSh mE cLeAn oF cHemIcaLs OncE?"

"Oh right...But you're always beautiful. I can't help but admire you."

My face burns up as I step deeper and he swims circles around me with a smile. 

This idiot...This sweet idiot...

"Can you blame me? You look mesmerizing, Glitchy. There's a lot to admire. It's not every day that I get to see such tri-colored handsomeness. It's amazing how smoothly your bones shift from black to red, yet I notice yellow pixels on them when you blush. And so strong with such a radiant soul glow. Absolutely amazing."He praises

My face burns more from his praise and shake my head. How does he always find something to admire? Even when I'm a glitching mess or changed by some crap?

Within minutes we're splashing each other like a bunch of kids in the pool after I tried to shut him up. I can't help but laugh at how foolish we are acting. Then he pauses, smiling at me with a gentle gaze again, seeming happy. It's so loving again. It makes my soul warm up. Shortly afterward, we get out after realizing that it's a chlorine pool. Then I recall what he teased me about when I was stuck in a dress when he suggested taking a bath. Perhaps it'd be nice to remind him as we go to wash ourselves off.

"HoW wOuLd yOu fEeL aBoUt tHaT bAtH yOu mEnTiOnEd?"I ask teasingly, already running the water for the tub.

"What do you mean?"He asks

"DoN'T yOu ReMeMbEr yOuR sUgGeStIoN wHeN i wAs sTuCk In tHaT dReSs?"I ask

I wait a few moments as I add more bubbles to the water, making sure it feels warm enough for us. Then it hits him and his face burns up.

"T-Together?"He asks

I nod, getting some soap ready. His face burns more as I undress, climbing in to wash up. It doesn't take long before he's beside me in the tub and I carefully brush his magnificent wings, enjoying the chance to wash his wings and pick dirt from his feathers. He seems to enjoy it as well, then takes the chance to scrub my spine carefully where I can't reach and even feel my growing tail. I notice his loving gaze remains even now. Then we dry off and I smile as we get dressed, preparing for dinner. He takes my hand and I smile wider at him. I kiss him gently on the cheek and his wings flap, curling around me as his face burns.

"I love you so much, darling."He says, kissing me on the head

Then he takes my hands before I put the gloves on, kissing both hands and rubbing my knuckles softly with his thumbs.

"I love all of you. Your happiness makes you glow."He says

My face burns up more but I brush it off out of habit. I put the gloves on, wanting to protect him still. 

"LeT'S jUsT g0 hAvE dInNeR."I say

"Whatever you say, Glitchy.~"He coos
