Chapter 6: An Announcement & Zane's Questions

It's been a few days since Kai and Cole started dating, they still haven't told anyone yet, they plan to tell the others soon.

Kai walks out into the living room with his earbuds in, singing "Rises The Moon (By Liana Flores)" under his breath as he sits on the couch and turns on his phone.

"Days seem sometimes as if they'll never end" he sang surprisingly well

Jay joins in from the kitchen "Sun digs it's heels to taunt you"

Zane walks back in from outside and added to the choir "But after sunlit days, one thing stays the same"

Cole walks out of his room to join in as they all sang the line "Rises the moon" together.

They continued singing until the song was over, the four of them were all in the living room now.

Cole looked at Kai, Kai looked back at Cole "Now's as good a time as any." he said, making Jay and Zane a little confused.

"What do you mean?" Zane asked, tilting his head slightly.

"Well uhm.." Cole hesitated, grabbing Kai's hand, blushing slightly, before continuing

"Me and Kai are.. together now." he said, staring at the floor.

"Oh.. congratulations!!" Jay responded, trying not to sound upset, he turned to look at Zane.

Zane stood there for a moment, processing his sadness before smiling and replying "That is nice, I am going to back training now." his smile fading as he turned around.

"Oh! Hey Jay.. can we talk?" Nya said as she walked in, earning a glare from Kai.

"Um.. sure?" Jay answered hesitantly as he walked back to Nya's room with her.

As they entered her room she sighed, Jay noticed Skylor was there too.

"I haven't been completely.. honest lately." Nya spoke.

"What do you mean?" he was just glad it wasn't an "argument".

"Well first.. I wanted to apologise for the way I treated you.." Nya looked at the floor "I was frustrated about a lot of things and I was trying to scare you off and it wasn't right - but I'm going to therapy now and it's really helping, so I just wanted to give you a proper apology, no acceptance required."

"Scare me off? Why?" Jay asked.

"I.." Nya took a deep breath "I stopped having feelings for you a while ago and I started dating Skylor behind your back! I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner it's just I was going to and then you- the infirmary-" she tried to explain.

Jay cut her off with a hug before letting go and telling her "It's okay Nya, I understand, I feel the same. I mean I didn't cheat but I didn't know how to tell you I didn't love you anymore and I didn't wanna hurt your feelings and now two of the people I do like are dating eachother and-"

"Oh, Jay." Nya cut him off, rolling her eyes and hugging him back "Friends?" she asked.

"Friends." He replied, smiling.

"Now, tell me, is it Kai and Cole? And you said two of so who else?" Nya teased, making Jay flustered.

"How did you know?" He asked, avoiding the question of 'who else?'
