Chapter 7: Techno Confessions & Polyamory

A minute went by with no response.

"Do you have feelings for me?" Zane asked again.

"Do you have feelings for me?" Jay parroted the question as his own.

Zane was hesitant to respond and they both stood there for a moment, staring nervously at eachother with hope and fear and love in their eyes.

"Tell him! He obviously likes you back, Zane!" Pixal said to him in his head.

"I-" Zane hesitated again.

A few more minutes went by but eventually Zane answered "Yes, I do." he looked at the ground, attempting to hide his face.

Jay sat shocked for a moment, eventually he responded "Well there's the answer to your question then." he said, sounding confident as he looked at Zane.

Zane's mouth was slightly agape as he stared back at Jay in disbelief. 'He's so hot when he's confident..' Zane thought.

Suddenly Jay kissed him, the electric sparks touching his soft metal lips made him feel like he was floating on air, or perhaps he was just short circuiting a little, but he never wanted the kiss to be over.

As their lips parted, Jay smiled at him and rubbed the back of his neck as he blurted out a question "D'you wanna be my boyfriend?"

"Yes." Zane answered enthusiasticly, and almost immediately.

Jay looked at him in surprise on account of how quick his answer was, for a while they looked at eachother in awkward silence.

"Soo.. heh, that just happened." Jay stated awkwardly, breaking the silence.

"How do we announce our relationship to Kai and Cole?" Zane asked.

"We'll do it when it feels right." Jay said, shrugging. He kissed Zane on the cheek, making him flustered, before walking out to the kitchen.

Once Jay entered the kitchen he noticed Kai there, looking confused as he stared at a bag.

"hewupfh bfukdl kagatduh ...ugh" Kai groaned in frustration at his words failing him, as per usual.

"hm?" Jay questioned, slightly concerned, hoping for Kai to say actual words.

There was a brief pause.

"...how many ..times does the ..box say?" Kai responded, holding up a bag of frozen fries.

"oh" Jay said, raising an eyebrow 'Maybe I should go get Zane for this.. he sounds like me after a seizure.. is he okay?' he thought to himself.

Kai then groaned and mumbled under his breath "it's a bag you moron and it's how LONG does the box say, how LONG."

"Kai, calm down, no one's perfect." Zane said, overhearing Kai's mumbling as he walked in. "Although, perhaps a better sleep schedule would help."

Cole walked in. "Yeah I gotta agree with Zane on this one, firefly." He said, putting his arm around Kai. Kai then turned his head in towards Cole's neck and hugged him for a little while before falling asleep.

Cole carried him over to the couch and set him down "Please don't drag me down baby, I've got a lot to do today." he said quietly into his lover's ear.

Kai turned over to face the back cushions on the couch and grabbed a pillow, hugging it tightly in his sleep.

Soon after, Cole walks back into the kitchen, where Zane is now making dinner, he takes note of how Zane decided to cook the fries that Kai wanted. 'That's sweet of him.' He thinks to himself.

"What's for dinner, lugnut?" He asks, startling Zane a moment.

"Well, I was going to make khao soi, but I noticed Kai wanted fries, so, I am making green chile adobado poutine with a side of caprese salad with tomatoes and asparagus." Zane said, pausing briefly before asking "Would you like to make any suggestions for a drink or another side?"

"Wow, that sounds fancy, but uh, I'm not really hungry and I'm a bit tired so I'm just gonna go sleep, I'll eat in the morning." Cole said.

As Cole started walking away Zane grabbed his hand. "Cole please? You haven't eaten in two days." He said, Cole glanced at the ground and thought for a little while. "But what if I can't stop myself? I used to eat all the time and I couldn't stop myself. I'm afraid it will happen again." A tear rolled down his cheek.

"Cole, I understand you're scared but I am here for you, we all are, and I promise that I will help you to better your impulses and your guilt." Zane hugged him and smiled.

Cole smiled back and spoke. "Thank you, Zane." He said.

Cole felt sad that the hug was over, he never wanted the hug to end, nor did Zane.

"Well I uh, I better get back to what I was doing." Cole said, seeming flustered, as he hurried to his room. Zane chuckled a little and sighed before going back to his cooking.

With Cole:

"Cole. What the hell. Stop it. You have a boyfriend, you love him. Plus Zane would never like you anyw-"

*knock knock*

"Cole? Cole, can we talk?" It sounded like Jay.

Cole hesitantly opened the door, it was Jay.

Jay walked in and closed the door behind him before saying "I'm gonna be honest, I heard everything you just said."

'Shit. It's over he's gonna tell him and then you'll never have a chance with any of them ever agai-"

"I'm not gonna "rat you out" or anything, I just wanted to let you know that Zane's my boyfriend." Jay continued.

"Your boyfriend? When did you two start-" Cole got cut off

"I mean he's only mine right now but we are both polyamorous so-" Cole cut Jay off this time.

"Poly-what-wha-what?" He asked.

"Polyamorous, it means we can love more than one person at the same time, for example I like him, Kai an- uhh uhhh- um. He likes me and Kai and- yeah." Jay answered, a little flustered at his slip up.

"Ohh, so that's what it is.. wait you both like Kai too? And I still got him first? WOO!" Cole's mind was everywhere and nowhere, he didn't even seem to notice Jay's slip up.

Jay rolled his eyes and said "Yeah, yeah, boulder-brains, let's just go." Cole smirked and said "You're just mad I got him first." then he laughed as they walked out to the living room.

Kai sleepily woke up sitting upright with Cole and Jay on either side of him, which made him a little red.

Soon after, Zane yelled out "Dinner!" and everyone was off to the table.
