Nightmares

Request: Mountain comforts reader after a nightmare
(Mountain x reader)

"It's alright my love, I'm here for you." He whispered into your ear, stroking your hair softly while he held you in his embrace. "I'll never leave you."

It was late at night and you were asleep in mountains arms. He couldn't sleep because he was very invested in a book that he recently started reading. As much as he preached having a good sleep schedule to you he wasn't able to follow his own advice. He was in the middle of a chapter when he felt you moving in your sleep. Your breath became heavy and uneven, you began to sweat, and most notably you were crying and whimpering in your sleep. Mountain put a bookmark in his book, setting it down on the bedside table. He shifted his attention towards you and started running his hand through your hair and gently kissed your forehead seeing if he could help calm you down.

You woke up in a cold sweat, you looked around the room. Your eyes finally landed on mountain and you wrapped your arms around him, burying your head into his chest. "Whats wrong my love? Did you have a nightmare?" Mountain asked, rubbing your back lovingly. You nodded, still crying. Mountain seemed to understand and he kissed your forehead again. "Can you tell me what it was about?" Mountain asked in a hushed tone, trying not to upset you any further. "Y-you went away and got with someone else..." you sniffled, wiping your eyes, hiding further into his embrace. "Oh honey..." he said, rubbing your back lovingly. Mountain took some snacks from his nightstand drawer, handing them to you in hopes to make you feel better. He always kept a stash of your favorite snacks in his room for you. "Please don't leave me..." you began to tear up again, eventually full on tears rolled down your cheeks. "It's alright my love, I'm here for you." He whispered into your ear, stroking your hair softly while he held you in his embrace. "I'll never leave you." The next few hours were spent with him holding you in his arms, eating your favorite snacks and watching your favorite movies.

You looked over at the clock to see it read 4:00am. You looked up at him to see he looked exhausted. "You can go to sleep, I don't want you to fall asleep at practice tonight." You gently cupped his face, wrapping your tail around his leg in a comforting way. "I need to be there for you though." He protested. You kept insisting on him going to sleep until he finally gave in and closed his eyes. You snuggled up to him, letting him wrap his arms around you as you both fell asleep in each others arms.
