"And if you're lonely, I could be lonely with you!"

It was finally summer, so me and Cody decided to go to the beach with our friends, Owen, Izzy, and Eva. Owen was our destination driver. Cody came to my house to wait for the others to pick us up. Izzy and Owen live near each other so it was an easy 2-minute drive for him. We all practically lived 5-10 minutes away from each other. While we played Nintendo Esports on my Switch. We were having so much fun. I was mostly losing though, due to my condition. Seeing Cody laugh just made me happy. I liked hearing him laugh. Why is he so perfect? A smile rose from my lips as I giggled looking at him. "Is Owen here yet?" The brunette puffs his cheeks. He gets impatient sometimes.

"He's almost here, I promise you." I smile. We stopped playing the Nintendo and were surrounded by silence. It was a good silence, being in his company and all. I pull his waist to hug him. My face was nuzzled by his soft, yet messy hair. It was rather fragrant. I liked it. He looks up and smiles radiantly at me. He's been slowly recovering from the loss of Emalia. I was there for him in every way I could. "I love you," I mumble. "I love you more than anything." He replies. I peppered his freckled face with kisses and hugged him tighter. Our sentimental moment was disrupted by the sound of a horn.

We both knew it was Owen. We both went down the stairs and opened the door. There he was. The big blonde. "C'mon, hop in!" Izzy yelled through the rolled-down window. Her red hair was tied into a high ponytail, and she wore her iconic green sarong with her swimsuit. We both giggled and ran for the car. All the windows were rolled down, giving us fresh air. I loved the fresh air on my face since car scents gave me migraines. "You guys excited?" Owen asked. We all replied in unison, except for Eva. "We're almost there, so sit tight!" His voice became muffled by the chewing of a sandwich. He usually stopped for some on-the-go snacks. It's nothing new.

We finally arrived at the beach. The water shimmering, kids roaming and screaming, tiny waves crashing occasionally, and the sweet sweet smell of people grilling barbeque. We were all so thrilled and started running for the water. It was almost freezing when we dipped our toes into the water. Izzy splashed around and giggled. I didn't like to splash or play with water. My eyes sting when I play with the seawater. I noticed Cody didn't splash in the water either. He looked hesitant, scared even. "Cody, you alright?" I offered him my hand to hold, and he accepted. He gently squeezes the sides of my hand. "Cody, are you okay?" I held the two of his hands again. He nods. I caress his face, observing his features. He pursed his lips with hesitation.

"Well, I've been kind of hiding things from you, Noah. I know it would be disappointing to find out, but I trust you enough to tell you." My heart sinks. In both a good and bad way. He actually trusts me. But then he has been hiding something. "Take your time, love. I'll always be proud of you, I promise." I smile reassuringly, kissing his forehead. He giggled, a sad laugh. "I've been kind of hurting myself." He mumbles for the others not to hear. My eyebrows furrowed in a sad way. I don't know how to explain it. "Oh... Thank you so much for telling me this. Is there anything we can do to get through this?" The curves around my lips turned upwards as I hugged him.

I walked him back to our spot where we could see Izzy and Owen having fun in the sand. Splashing round and about. The brown-haired teen was curled up like a ball beside me. We talked about things for a bit. Just the two of us, y'know? I always loved these kinds of things. The simple things. I could be alone with Cody and everything else wouldn't matter. "C'mon, Noah!! Swim with us!" Izzy yelled from a distance. I rolled my eyes replying, "Yeah, no. Maybe I could turn into a mermaid from the condensation!" It made my boyfriend laugh a little.

I noted the crashing waves and the breeze's scent. A hint of sea salt and grinded sand. The Sun slowly faded into the somber night, welcoming the Moon. No one was here anymore, which was no fun for the nutcase. Everyone decided to get home as soon as possible. Cody didn't feel like going home, though. "Wanna stay over at my place?" He nods, rubbing his wrists. "Thanks for the ride, Owen." I smiled as I walked over to my lover. He seemed exhausted. I mean, no fucking shit, Noah. It's late in the damn night. What type of fucking human wouldn't be tired at this hour? Unless you're an insomniac.
