"Such a pretty house and such a pretty garden..."

Cody's POV...

It has been a week since I last visited him. He has been pushing me and a lot of people away. I hope he misses me the way I do.

His grown out shaggy hair,

His little side smiles,

His beautiful tan skin,

The way he would lean in for a kiss,

The way he dressed to impress my family during prom,

His arms that he wrapped around me when we kissed,

And how could I forget the way the sun shines on his brown eyes?

I thought about the memories I made with him throughout my high school life. Now, I couldn't believe that I was going to graduate without him. I hated that feeling. The sun shone upon my home, giving me a sign to go outside and visit Noah. The closer I got, the more things I noticed. It went wrong.

"What?!" I finally arrived at his house, now noticing the 'for sale' sign. My mind was scrambled like eggs. What the hell is this supposed to mean? I tried to find the right words. Noticing the people walking by the house, I felt like I was going to throw up. I get on my phone, trying to find Noah's contact number. My heart was... Racing. I didn't know what to do.

I dialed his phone, praying that he'd respond.

N: "Cody?"
C: "Noah, what the fuck? Why didn't you tell me that your house was for sale now?"
N: "You don't have to worry about that."
C: "WHAT??!?!!"

The line went silent for a bit.

C: "Where are you, right now?"
N: "...Owen's apartment."
C: "Send me the address."
N: "Cody, I-"
C: "Noah, just... Give me the address. I wanna talk."
N: "...Fine. It's, —-----."

Later, at Owen's apartment.

I stand in front of the door, my body tensing up with anxiety as I overthought everything. Does Noah not love me anymore? Why won't he speak to me, dammit?! I want to be there for him, but he just won't open up.

Why was the only person he trusted entirely... Owen? I tentatively knocked on the door, my heart thumping synchronizing within each thud.

The door creaked open as I watched Owen's head peak through the door. He gives me a welcoming smile, letting me in without any question. He only knew that me and Noah were talking over the phone a few moments ago and yet, he was still oblivious to the fact I was frustrated. Frustrated that my own boyfriend wouldn't tell me jackshit. After all the crap we've been through, he still wouldn't tell me anything. What next, huh..? Will he tell me..

That he still has feelings for Emma? His best friend walks me to his room, knocking on his door. "Cody's here!!!" He announced with so much joy. I wish I was just as bright and optimistic as Owen was. I mean, I am. But like... It's been hard.

The door slowly opens, revealing Noah's figure. He was in his usual attire and glasses. I knew that his expression subtly changed as he saw me. A pang of guilt and happiness, I think? Was seeing him even the best option here, especially if he's just gonna stare behind that door? "...Cody." He broke the silence, acknowledging my presence.
