Goodmorning Hamzah. It seems that your grade is dropping. I'm giving you a chance to make it up. If you finish your final project early, I'll give you an extra credit assignment. - Mrs. Stan

Why does she take art so seriously. I got this class for an easy A but it's bringing me down. I sigh and reach for my phone on the night stand.

Trey

T: okay see you later Hamzah.

H: Okay see you.

H: Hey man can you ask Evan if she's free we need to do an art project.

T: Yeah man no prob

H: Thanks

T: Yeah she's free

H: Okay thanks I'm coming over.

I use my bike to go over. I listen to music in the brisk morning. I don't know how this will go. I don't know how I feel about Evangeline. She's my best friends sister.

Never really liked her as a friend, more like a sister. But shes changing. She's actually really funny and nice. I guess she's chill. I joke with her but she takes it personal.

Maybe its just me then. We actually did get along. I was actually closer to her when we were younger. But I found a new group and she kept telling me how they weren't nice. I didnt believe her until we got older. I guess I grew them out.

Now it feels like old times when we were younger. No bad friends to interfere.

I doorbell and see Trey. "Hey man." I said. "Hey" Trey says. I see Evan on the top stair, I wave. Trey says "okay good luck." He runs up the stairs.

I see Evan and just recently I seen how much she's changed. She's not the little boy I saw before. She goes down the stairs and I say "Hi Evan." She stares at me. Oh shoot I forgot.

I forgot she even yelled at me yesterday, I only remember the principle incident.....

She asks if I want a drink. "Just some water I guess, thanks" I answer.

This is so awkward, but I don't get it we were laughing our butts off yesterday. I could tell she didn't like me after I ended up in the wrong group. But that was a while ago.

I try to break the silence as we sit down on the couch. "Whatre we supposed to do again?" She explains and I wish I was that smart. She starts talking about perspective, rule of thirds, and something else which was a big word that I forgotten already.

I wonder why we had drifted but I know why. I guess I just forgotten how cool she was. She asks if we can go get magazines. I pull down the ladder and hold her hand to give her stability. I had to look away my cheeks were so red. She said "okay I got it thanks."

I come up right after her. Its so dark I can't even see Evan. I feel the light string and see Evan right in front of me. I jump as I get startled and Evan is just laughing in my face. I think we'll be okay I thought.

I rummage through a box and see our old photos. God how I've missed being a kid, especially with Evan. I call her over. We think about the nostalgia. I look at her seeing how she's change and how pretty she'd gotten. How could a little boy turn so pretty.

We go down the ladder and got the magazines. "I only remember how you were when you were like 10." Well what do you want to know she says. "Your favorite color, is it still purple?

I remember it being purple because on her 12th birthday it was purple themed and to my surprise everyone went along with it. And I was wearing a blue shirt, long story short she kicked me out. So I've gone to all of her birthdays except for her 12th.

Evangeline scooted next to me asking my opinion on sea animals. My eyes widen as I feel her warmth so close to me. She scoots away. I can tell she was embarrassed because she scratched the back of her head. Can't believe she still does that. I smile at her.

Evan says "Collages are boring can we start painting?". I said "sure doesn't matter to me." So we get started. We sit across from each other. I observe Evans face. Her golden brown hair, her cherry lips, and her hazel brown eyes. And her now cherry red cheeks. I smile noticing them.

I see it getting dark outside when Evan says "are you gonna sleep over or go home." I tell her about the extra credit assignment and get up to leave.

She leads me to the door. I say "Bye Evan" she looks at me. I ask "why do you hate that nickname." She confronts me saying that I called her that to call her an ugly boy.

I'd thought that was our inside joke. Her brother jokes like that with her. "I've always seen you as my little sister thats why I've said those kind of things." "Well see you Monday Hamzah." "See you Evan... (I stop myself as she glares at me) ... geline"

She shuts the door and I smile while thinking about the whole day. It felt so refreshing having my old friend back. I bike home and think about how much I wanted to be friends with her again.

(A/N) ik this is a long chapter but I hope you like it!!
