"Oh my gosh. what the fuck Hamzah" Trey says with a wide mouth. "Hey man, no I'm so sorry." Hamzah says while facing Trey. "That's my sister, MY SISTER." Trey says. "I know I know, I don't know what happened, it just did" Hamzah says.
"And what do you think you're doing Leane, really? Out of everyone? My best friend?" Trey says. "I'm sorry Trey, it won't happen again." I say. Hamzah looks back at me as I say that. "You bet this is never happening again, we're leaving tomorrow." Trey says.
"Hamzah you're sleeping in the car, I can't even look at you right now." Trey says as he unzips what is now, his tent. "Trey I'm really sorry." I say. "Just go to sleep, Leane." he says disappointedly.
I can feel my eyes well up with tears knowing I hurt my brother. I can't find it in myself to look at Hamzah, I feel too much guilt to do so. I open up my tent and cry myself to sleep.
It's morning and I peek out of the tent to see mom talking to Trey, I know what they're talking about. Trey sees that I'm peeking and mom walks towards me. I go back into the tent waiting for a scolding.
"Hey Leane, I heard you had a rough night last night." Mom says. "Oh mom, I really messed up." I say with tears. "Aw honey I know you feel bad, just be honest with your brother." She says. "I'm definitely not going to talk to Hamzah for a while." I say, "I think you guys can figure it out, don't worry about it.
"The thing is mom, I think I really like Hamzah and I don't know what to do" I say while sobbing. "It's okay pumpkin, I'll try to calm down Trey and we'll figure everything out okay?" Mom says. I nod at her and she gives me a hug. "I think it's best if we just have to give space to each other for now." I say. Mom nods at me.
I go outside with puffy eyes and sit next to Trey. "Hey Trey, I'm really sorry, I know what I did was really messed up and I'm sorry." I say. "That was really fucked up Leane, you know that if you guys actually get together it could mess up everything." he says. "Yeah I know, so we won't do anything, I won't even talk to him or see him after this trip." I say.
"Do you really like him?" Trey asks. I shrug at him, looking down at the ground. "Okay Leane I'm gonna be honest, I've been noticing you guys spending a lot of time together, but if you get with him you have to make sure you're 100% like in love with him or something. And I swear Leane you better freaking marry him" Trey says. "It's okay Trey, I'll just keep my distance, I know how much your friendship means.
" Look Leane what you do is your business just don't drag me in it." he says. I nod at him. I turn around and see Hamzah with his messy hair and drooping eyes. "That's my queue to leave, bye Trey." I say.
"Leane I didn't mean you had to do all that," he said. I shrug and head to the tent. Look it was nice what Trey was trying to do but I feel like Mom just told him to accept it, I could tell he was still uncomfortable with the idea. To me family is more important than some boy.
But another part of me is saying that Hamzah isn't just "some" boy. I just had to survive the next four hours in the car with pure silence. I've actually had a technique which was trying to sleep for the whole time until we had to drop off Hamzah.
Hamzah's Pov:
"Hey man." I say to Trey. "Hey." Trey replies. "Look man I'm really sorry for what happened." I say. "I get it but why'd it have to be my sister, out of all the people?" Trey says. "I don't know it just happened, it was all really fast." Hamzah says.
"Look I just need to process everything okay?" Trey says. I nod at him and pat him on his back. "There's breakfast in the main cabin you should eat now." Trey says. "Yeah thanks man." I say.
I felt so bad for doing this to Trey, I know what I did was wrong but I couldn't hold back what I felt for Evan much longer. Its like nothing matters when I'm with her it's just the two of us.
Evangeline's POV:
Diana had just been caught up on all the happened last night. "Oh my gosh Leane." Diana says. "I knoww, I feel so bad for Trey." I say. "I heard him he said he'd understand." She said.
"I don't know Diana, I think he was still uncomfy." I said. "Well I think he gave you the green light." Diana says. I shrug at her with an unsure smirk. "So how was the kiss..?" Diana asks.
"DIANA." I say while throwing a pillow at her. "WHATT, don't tell me you don't remember when you used to crush on him when we were younger." I roll my eyes at her. "No but I really messed up with Trey." I say. "YOU GOT THE GREEN LIGHT LEANE." Diana says.
"I'll just keep some distance for now." I say. "Whatever you say girl but I think you're brother have you permission." She says. "Whatever I'm going we need to bring the stuff in the car."
As I bring my duffel bag I see Hamzah going to put his bags in the back of the car. He catches a glimpse of me when I quickly turn away and walk another way.
"Hey, Evan." Hamzah says trying to grab my attention. "Evan! Wait up." Hamzah says. He grabs my arm. "Evan hey sorry." He says. "Hi Hamzah." I say awkwardly.
"Why have you been avoiding me." He says. "I'm sorry it's just Trey, I'm his sister and I really hurt him." I say. "I get it Evan, but I just can't stop thinking of last night." He says. "I know it's just it can't happen, for Trey." I say.
"Oh yeah for sure yeah." Hamzah says while looking down at the ground. "Here let me get you're bags." He says. "Thanks." I say with a smile, still wishing I could relive that moment.
After a few hours of cleaning up we were finally getting ready to leave. We all got in our seats and Hamzah looks at me and asks "everyone good?" while staring at me. "Yeah." I say.
I sleep as I get waken up by mom saying "Bye Hamzah." "Bye guys." He says while smiling at us. I couldn't see if I could avoid him much longer. He was my escape from reality. Why'd he have to be my brother's bestfriend?
