Having a history with Hamzah was weird. We were once so close, then we weren't, then warming up to each other again. I wonder how we'd be if we'd nevee drifted.

I think of this because as I'm looking for a calendar on the fridge, I see a photo of Hamzah and I on a5 swing. That swing was so special to us, that was until the tree that held the swing was chopped down.

I remember Hamzah and I would mourn the tree while sitting on the stump of what was left of our beautiful tree. Since that happened we'd eat there and that was always Trey's, Hamzah's and I's hangout spot.

Then as days went by they began making new friends. Turning into not so positive people. As the memories rush back I whip out my phone from my pocket.

E: look what I found on the fridge.

T: hey cool our hangout spot
H: I forgot about that
H: wanna go eat lunch there later guys?

E: Yes that sounds greatt

T: I'm actually busy right now but you guys can go! 😉
H: oh okay well next time Trey
T: yup 👍

H: so just in case you guys do go we can meet at 12:30.

I knew what Trey was doing. Trey knew what he was doing. As much as I appreciated Trey doing what he was doing, I can't get his face out of my head when he saw us at camp.

I didn't know if I should go. Honestly everything seemed to be normal and I didn't want to change that. But I couldn't leave Hamzah hanging just like that. So I'm deciding to go.

I go to my closet and browse through all my clothes. A part of me is saying to just wear something casual but another is telling me to wear something to impress Hamzah. But no, I decided to wear what I'd liked and if people didn't like that, that's be too bad!

I decide to put on a t- shirt, shorts, sunglasses and a purse. It was around 11:45 and I was so nervous. It hit me that Hamzah might want to talk about what had happened in camp, our kiss. It was a dream.

I put on my shoes once it was around 12:15. My heart was beating. Every thump gave me another thought, another thing to worry about. I go outside since our meet up time is soon and that our meet up place is just a walk away.

As I'm on the path to our meet up place, I get a wave of nostalgia. I haven't been here since I was around 10. How could someone so mean turn into someone I'd admired?

I sit on what's left of our once beloved tree. I check my phone to see if Hamzah had texted me. I hear a crisp of a leaf and look up, it's Hamzah.
