8. Stand Off

Delta followed our tracks after brutally murdering Vic. I ran out the door and didn't look back although I could hear her.
I was a mess, my once straight hair had waves, my uniform had holes and dirt and blood all over it, and my arms had cuts and bruises all up it. I noticed the same appearance on everyone as well.
Outside the Innovation center, the small chirps from the raptors came closer till all 5 of us were cornered at the door and even then, Delta ran out behind us.

Owen held my hand and whispered to me "they found a new alpha" and like on demand, the Indominus Rex emerged from beside the main shopping centers. My heart beat quickened, no way we were gonna win this. Although we were in such a peril situation, I veered my attention to the lengthy amount of time Owen was holding my hand. God I swear my selective focusing was going to get me killed.
It stepped forward at us, the indominus Rex, and loudly communicated with the last 2 raptors.

"Where is Charlie and Blue?" I whispered to Owen

"ACU blew up Charlie, I don't know where Blue went."

ACU killed Charlie, every after Owen stressed not to shoot them. Yet I do not know the whole story because ya know, we haven't had time to catch up over dinner or anything.

As the beast came closer to us, the 2 raptors looked back at me and Owen; like trying to say 'I'm sorry for what I'm about to do'

Instead of lunging at us and killing us all, the raptors faced the Indominus and lunged at that. Echo and Delta climbed all over its back snarling and clawing at her. Almost immediately, Delta was flung to the wall very harshly and, I see, was killed instantly. I gasped in fear. Owen held me as I was shaking not only in fear but in sorrow. I knew that there would be a day when the raptors would die, but they died fighting for us.

"There, over there" Claire said motioning toward the customer service building. That building was awfully small but was somewhat safe because it stood between 2 concrete buildings. We ran over there as the fighting continued. Owen stayed propped up against the counter and fired at the Indominus. He wasn't getting very far. And another thing the lab didn't mention about the hybrid was that it was modified with armadillo DNA for extra tough, and in some cases like this, bulletproof skin.

"Owen give it up" Claire said from the corner where she was with Gray.

I stood up at the sound of a burst in flames. I looked over to the Thai restaurant to see flames flatline into the air.

"Owen, what was just thrown in there" I begged to God that it wasn't any of the raptors. I looked out the battlefield, only no raptors left.

He looked back at me "oh my god" I said whining once again at a loss of a raptor. It was Echo. Owen brought me into a big bear hug as I started to tear up a bit. So it took 3 raptors to crack me so here I am crying in Owen's arms. The Indominus Rex started sniffing around looking for us.

"We need more teeth" Gray said looking to the adults.

"More teeth?"

"Yea more teeth"

"Everyone, stay here" I said detaching myself from Owen. I scanned the wall space and came across an emergency kit. Every kit has wipes, bandages, other medical essentials, and a flare. I grabbed it immediately and escaped from the main center. No one said a word as I ran off to the paddocks.

"Lowery, are you still here?" I asked into my radio

"Yea, what do you need?" He asked, thank god he was still here.

"I need you to open Paddock nine" I said finally stopping in front of the T-Rex cage

"Are you insane?"

"God Lowery, can you just man up and do something for once in your life" I yelled into my radio looking up at the security camera hoping Lowery would notice my anger.

"You didn't need to make it personal" he said as the gate slowly went up. I started the flare.

And there, standing before me was the original beast, the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Gray said we needed more teeth, well here is more teeth. With the flare flailing over my head, I ran back to the main area. The T-Rex, which was in its most tamed state, followed the red light.
We reached the main fighting area and I threw the flare at the Indominus.
The beasts roared loudly as the fight started once again, yet with another opponent. I fled behind an amber rock for it was the closest safety stance.

The Pandora store was left behind me. For a few seconds I was thinking about going to steal something but yet again there was no reason.
When I said me not focusing could kill me, I was about right. I turned around just in time to drop to the ground as the tail of the Indominus Rex crushed straight through the Amber rock. The small group that was held up in the customer service building all looked out at me. I noticed the fight was getting closer to there building, they all looked to me.

"RUN!" I yelled as they ran from building to building film they reached my area. Owen continued to try and fire at the I-Rex.
Nothing was going right. The gun wasnt useful by no means and the T-Rex was pinned to the ground. We all huddled together for the fight was about to end, the T-Rex was about to be killed.

a snarl was heard from the far right.

We all thought the war was over but we were wrong. Blue comes hurdling in.
