Veronica's POV

"How dare he?"

Sally gave me Why-are-you-so-stupid look.

"H-He just can't ask me out like that! I barely know him."

"Calm down, Ver! Stop moving from one end to another end of the room. You make my neck hurt!" Sally spoke out stuffing slice of pizza into her mouth.

I stood in front of her placing my hands on hips and took a deep breathe.

"This is a serious issue! You can't just take it so lightly."

"A boy asking you is no way a serious issue"

"But-I-" I got seated on the couch resting my neck.

"Ver, You gotta give yourself another chance. He did not propose you! He just asked you out."

"I-I can't, okay? It is too difficult for me to do it! After what all has happened with me. Adrian still has an eye on me."

"Adrian won't bother you anymore"

"Why would not he?" 

"Because he has destroyed what he wanted to."

"What do you mean? I am still alive! He wanted me dead, you idiot!"

"No, my dear. He did not want to kill you, He wanted to destroy which was never destructible."

"Stop being Sherlock and come to the point."

"Sherlock always has a point! He is the most intelligent and sexy detective, so thank you for complimenting me" Sally smirked.

"Uggghhhh!! Will you shut it already and explain me in understandable words?"

"Sure!"

Sally rose up from her seat and switched off the muted TV.

She closed the windows and doors and made the room a bit darker.

"What are you doing?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

"Getting into the scene." She replied.

I face palmed and rested my elbows on my knees.

"Now, my darling, You were a prize tag!"

"What?!"

"Yes! You heard me. He wanted to show you off as his girlfriend to the world and He wanted to get into your pants."

"I know it" I told with a blank face.

"You poked his nerve by denying him and pushing him away every time."She continued "All the bullying before I met you and later,happened according to his plan. So that he can become your rescuer."

I started digesting her words.

"When you entered the college, All the boys had their eyes on you. Seniors started betting on you and challenged each other who would get you first."

"But- I was so ugly! I mean, there were so many girls who were hot and popular."

"That is the point where you got it wrong. Before you stepped in, they were popular with their plastic skins, model like bodies and slut like clothes. But you never bothered how you looked, you were still confident and bold. You never feared to walk alone."

She continued "First thing people would ever do when they enter a college is start making friends, but you never approached anyone. You were happy staying alone and you were totally different from other girls."

"Girls started bullying you because they were jealous of you. They tried hard to break you but you  stood unaffected."

"How is all this connected with Adrian?"
