"Daddy! I'm going out with the girls tonight, so I'll see you in the morning, okay?"
"Okay sweethart." My dad smiled widely at me, flashing his pearly white teeth as he kissed my forhead. "Not too late and don't wake your brother up, okay?" I nodded my head before picking up my purse and headed out to the Viper that was waiting for me.
"Babe, what took you so long?" Chastity whined at me and I had to laugh at the girl.
"Dad needed to see me leave. We'll make there in time, not to mention, we're okay to be fashionably late to a party." I smirked at her as she peeled out of the driveway to the mansion of a house that my mother owned.
Mother Armstrong was in the fashion industry. You name it, she's done it. Runner, deisnged her own work, created a cat walk and now she is one of the most known fashion designers in the world. My brother, Jackson, always liked to use that to his advantage to pull the girls. I however, didn't need to. I wasn't what you would call a class A slut, because I've only ever slept with two guys.
Shock horror, a rich girl not as total slut.
I never really cared to sleep around.
On arrival to the party, both Chastity and I made an entrance, and a few people cheered. We were the girls who knew how to have fun and not hold back.
Tonight was going to be the same kind of night.

The sound of Bruno Mars woke me from the slumber. Looking at the name, my eyes widened in shock when I saw that it was my mother. She never called, not unless it was an emergency. My first thought was that there was a problem with Jackson, so I answered the phone without a second thought.
"What's happened?"
"Hello to you too, Scarlett." I sighed.
"Mom, you never call unless it's serious." I reminded her and there was a pause on the line.
"It's your father." Her voice cracked on the last word and I was off the couch, grabbing the car keys. Chastity had left with tall, dark and handsome, so I was fine to drive the car back to my place.
"I'm on my way."
"I'm at the hospital. I'll see you there." The phone call ended hastily and I put my foot down on the gas and sped away from the house where the inhabitants were slowly waking up.
It wasn't something normal for me to go to the hospital. I'd only ever been up there when Jackson had broken his wrist when he was fourteen. I was sixteen at that point and I'd only just gotten my drivers permit.
Dad worked his ass off to stop me from getting arrested for driving without someone who had a liscence.
I made sure to focus on the roads, the radio off and my thoughts running wild.
My parents might not have been around for the majority of my life, but I still loved them. They spoiled me, but when we were together as a family, we did what families should do. We went out together, we went on holiday's together. I wasn't estranged from my parents and I was thankful for that.
Once I arrived at the hospital, I ran inside, not caring who thought badly of me for loking like a complete tramp. It was a matter of my father being in hospital.
"Daniel Amstrong?" I questioned the young, blonde receptionist.
"No visitors allowed." Her tone was smug and that set my temper off.
"Listen honey, I don't know if you realise, but he is my father. My name is Scarlett Armstrong and if you don't tell me where my father is right now, I swear to god I will make your life a living misery."Despite my anger I had towards the girl, holding me back from seeing my father, I watched as her eyes widened and I simply smiled sweetly at her.
"R-room two-oh-five. Second floor." She stuttered and I let my smile drop as I headed towards the elevator. Once on the second floor, I saw my mother and I felt my stomach drop.
"Mom?" I carefully walked up to her and she turned to me, the tears falling form her eyes and then I realised how serious she was.
She never cried.
She fell into my arms and I suddenly felt a weight land on my shoulders, trying to drag me down.
"Mom, what's happened to dad?"
"He, he was shot. He's in surgery, he, his, I-" She broke down in tears as I heard the elevator ding once more. My head turned to see Jackson walking up to us, his eyes taking in both of us.
I beckoned him over with my hand and he wrapped his arms around us both. Being sixteen, he looked older for his age. It was nice because it felt like I was the little sister, and sometimes, that was nice for us both.
"It's dad." I whispered to him and I felt his arms get a bit tighter around us.
Eventually mom moved away, taking a seat on the little plastic chairs. Jackson sat me on his lap and he played with my hair, just like when we were younger.
Time passed by and I couldn't really pin point the hours because my mind was lost. We spoke about anything and everything. We talked about how he was excited to join the school's football team and I teased him, saying that he'd be the heartbreaker.
We were having an argument about which girl would be better suited for him, for a date wise when the doors opened. All of us stood up, our eyes expecting them to bring dad out on the gurney, sedated from the surgery.
But instead, we were greeted with a surgeon who looked like he wished he wasn't there.
"Is my husband okay?" Mom's words sounded desperate, wanting something good to hold onto. But the guy's eyes looked so sorrowful.
"I'm sorry Mrs Armstrong, Scar, Jacko. He didn't make it through the surgery."
I felt my heart shatter. I could see mom's knee's shaking and I pulled myself from Jackson's grip, catching her just as she started to fall. I brought both of us to the floor, her sobbing uncontrolable as I felt another set of arms around me.
Mom's sobs were loud, but mixed with my own sniffles and Jackson's tears, the picture was a sight which probably could have broken your heart.
And in that moment, it felt like my heart had turned to fragile glass and it had just been shattered in a matter of a few words.
It's a short start, yes. But you need to have a bit of basic of our main girl.
Let me know what you think? And a new chapter should be posted by Saturday.
