Everything was routine. It was getting tedious.

Go to school, come home from school, do nothing, go to bed. It had been a month

Eventually, Klara asked if I could come around hers, so I decided to compromise.

"How about you come around to mine?" The question had caught me off guard as we waited in line to pay for our lunch.

Shit, I need to be careful about this one.

"Well, how about if I talk to my mom and see if you can come around? Come and see the elusive Armstrong home." I teased and she looked at me in shock.

"Are you serious?"

"If I checked with my mom tonight, I'm sure she wouldn't mind you coming around to ours for an evening." I shrugged and Klara was staring at me like I'd grown a third head. "What?"

We paid for our lunches and went over to our usual table. Jackson had taken my advice and abandoned any chances of a friendship with Wayne and apparently Stu had followed his footsteps and both of them ate with us. But today, there was a third guy sat at our table who looked nothing like Wayne.

"Are you serious?" Klara finally got out as we took a seat and I nodded my head.

"You've been a good friend to me the past few weeks, and I guess I needed that." I rolled my shoulders into a shrug before turning my attention to Jackson. "So who's this, Jacko?" He playfully glared at me and I just smiled in return.

"This here is Evan Landon." My eyes snapped to the boy who was sat there. He looked roughly my age, but he was well built. He wasn't overly muscled like a body builder, but he kept it so that he was in shape.

"Nice to meet you-"

"You're Scarlett Armstrong. Yeah, I know who you are." I raised an eyebrow at him and he simply shrugged in return. "My younger sister is obsessed with you and you're in my Math class." He took a bite from his sandwich and both Klara and I shared a look before shrugging in return and returning to my food.

"Scar, mom wants us to-"

"It's fine. I'm talking to her later about that." I cut him off, ignoring the pang in my heart. Mom had requested that we got to dad's company and collect everything from there.

"Snappy much with him?" Stu questioned and I raised an eyebrow.

"I'm his older sister. I knew what he was talking about and it's a sore subject. Please try not to dictate how I treat my brother when he full well knows I'm not happy with the decision our mother has made for us." I snapped at him and he fell silent. "I've lost my appetite. I'll see you after school Jacko." He gave me a weak smile.

"Want me to come with?" Klara looked up from her seat and I shrugged.

"Sure. Your company is far better than listening to the snobby cows that we have in this school." At this, Klara laughed before grabbing her bag and waved goodbye to the boys. I could feel a pair of eyes on my back but I didn't dare turn around.

We had made it as far as the hallways which led out to the car park. Only when did I notice that the jock who had tried to corner me the other week, had his buddies with him.

He muttered something to them and they all started moving towards us. On instinct, I grabbed Klara's wrist and we turned around sharply.

"What are you doing?"

"If we can get to a classroom which has a teacher, they can't do anything. I beat up blondie on my first day here."

"Wait. You beat up Jared Schue? Are you insane?!" I think, had I grown a second head by this point, it wouldn't have phased Klara one bit.
