Genna, James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter had spent a week planning and bribing older students; they finally had the necessary tools to execute their plan.
Genna and James were putting the item in place, Remus was looking out, Sirius was ready to distract anyone and everyone that might come by, and Peter was... Peter was emotional support.
James tied the rope into place on his side and looked over to Genna. She tied her down and nodded to him
The little bags were tied to all the banners across the great hall, however they had swapped the usual banners with ones that said 'the marauders' on them and the big one read 'we are proud to present the marauders, who will gift you with seven years of pranks'. Of course no one would see them until Dumbledore unrolled them (with magic) as he did every morning.
In the bags was the real surprise. Three Hundred bags of james' glitter. One for each student, and staff, plus a few extra, as they didnt know the exact number of students. The only spots without bags were the ones Genna, James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter sat in. four empty ones at the gryffindor table, one at the slytherin.
They placed a charm on the banners so everytime Dumbledore thought about unrolling them he would remember something else that way it would only be unrolled when they wanted it.
Once everything was set up they all ran to Gryffindor common room. It was four in the morning and the earnest people arrived at the great hall at five thirty and they had to be first if they wanted to secure the safe spots.
Genna set an alarm on her watch for five and they all fell asleep.
An hour later the alarm went off and they all, reluctantly, got up and made their way back down to the great hall.
From there they spent the next three hours waiting for the great hall to fill.
Once the great hall was filled James nodded towards Sirius, who signalled to Genna. She nodded and pulled her wand out. Severus sent her a funny look but she ignored and whispered the spell that allowed Dumbledore to unroll the banners.
Once the glitter came flying down James, Sirius, Remus, and Genna got into position (peter had fallen asleep on the table) and waited for the last of it to come down then ran and jumped on top of the tables.
Genna was on Slytherin, Sirius on Gryffindor, Remus stood on Hufflepuff and James on ravenclaw.
As though it was rehearsed, which it was, they all dramatically bowed in unison. Then, they raised their wands and shouted the charm to stick the glitter.
Afterwards they saluted and ran from the great hall, Peter flung over Sirius's shoulder.
