Happy's Catchphrase (Nalu)

Lucy was happy when she and Natsu's friendship finally turned into a romantic relationship, but she wouldn't have guessed that Natsu would be so excited to tell everyone about it.

"Natsu wait!" she grabbed onto his hand to keep him from jumping out of her window. "I don't wanna tell everyone yet."

Natsu stepped down from her bed and turned to her with his arms crossed, "Why not?"

"'Cause you know how everyone is! We won't get a moment of peace once we tell them," Lucy explained.

Natsu stared at her, taking in her desperate expression.

"But they're our family. Plus I needa stick it in Metalhead and Ice Freak's faces that I confessed before they did!"

Lucy rolled her eyes, slightly astounded at how Natsu managed to bring competition even to this.

She grabbed his hand earnestly as she replied, "Yeah I know and we'll tell them eventually. I just want a few calm days to ourselves."

Natsu sighed, "Fine, but only a couple days."

Lucy smiled and reached up to give him a kiss on the cheek. Natsu, however, had other plans as he swiftly turned his head so her lips landed on his lips instead. He pulled her close to his body by her waist and kissed her with a fervent heat that caused her squeak of surprise to come out muffled. Lucy— annoyed that Natsu was trying to take the lead— pressed back against him with equal force as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, playing with his hair. Just as Natsu was gonna fling her onto her bed, they heard a familiar gasp from Lucy's open window.

"They lllike each other."

Lucy lunged for Happy but it was too late; he had already flown away. As Lucy angrily cursed out loud, Natsu stood frozen in his spot, wanting to laugh but knowing that his loud laughter probably wouldn't help Lucy's anger. He watched as she pulled out one of her celestial keys and he finally snapped into action.

"Don't worry we'll catch up to him," Natsu said with a grin.

He grabbed Lucy bridal style and jumped out of her window, Lucy's high-pitched screech causing his sensitive ears to ring. He put her on the ground before dragging her by the hand to chase after Happy. They could see him in the distance as they sprinted after him. Lucy summoned Saggitarrius to shoot Happy out of the sky as Natsu attempted throwing balls of fire, but Happy was quick as he avoided every shot.

"Really Cat? Where's this skill when we're out on jobs!" Lucy shouted exasperatedly.

Despite their attempts, Happy made it through the guild doors and minutes passed before they were able to come tumbling through the doors after him.

"Don't you dare Happy!" Lucy shouted as she searched for the blue cat.

Everyone stood shocked as they watched the two. The only person who didn't appear surprised was Happy, who was floating in the air with a Cheshire grin on his face.

"Damn it," Lucy cursed.

"OH MY GOD FINALLY!" Mira cried out happily as she ran to Lucy from the bar. She shook Lucy by the shoulders as she bombarded her with a hundred questions.

"Wow Flamebrain, I didn't think you had it in ya," Gray said as he casually swung an arm around his friend's shoulders.

"Shut it, when are you gonna finally confess to your little stalker?" Natsu taunted.

Gray growled, "Don't know who you're talking about squinty eyes."

Natsu headbutted Gray, "You know damn well who I'm talking about droopy eyes!"

Meanwhile, Levy had walked over to save Lucy from Mirajane's overly excited interrogation.

"Lucy I'm so happy you and Natsu are getting married!" she cheered for her best friend.

"HUH??" Lucy turned to Levy in confusion.

"Happy said you and Natsu are engaged," Levy clarified.

Lucy gaped before she attempted to look around for the culprit, "HAPPY!"

Natsu, wanting to help out his best bud (and feeling slightly scared for his own safety), walked over to Lucy to try and distract her from the angry tirade she was sure to go on.

He pulled her against his side as he spoke, "At least we don't have to worry about how to tell everyone."

Lucy sighed, "Yeah, I guess so."

She relaxed against Natsu's sturdy body, practically putting her whole weight on him. She was about to tell him they should go back home since the chase after Happy left her surprisingly fatigued, but the familiar nagging voice returned.

"They looove each other!"

When Lucy lunged at Happy for the third time that day, she finally caught him, and not even Natsu could save him anymore.
