Song- Infinity by the James Young𓆩ᥫ᭡𓆪
A few hours earlier...
Emma looked so peaceful when she slept, so vulnerable. She wasn't like anyone I had ever met in my whole life; she was strong, brave, and incredibly fierce. I gently kissed her forehead once and let my lips linger there for a moment.
"Qué me estás haciendo, muñeca?" I whispered because this woman was doing something to my cold and cursed heart.
(Translation: What are you doing to me, doll?)My thoughts were filled with her every single day and night, and as much as I tried to block them, it was almost impossible for me to do so.
Her laughter, her voice, her scent—every single thing about her was like an addiction for me. An addiction that would kill me, and I would let it. She was dangerous for me, and I knew that.
She makes me want to be a better person when I am with her, and somehow that doesn't bother me, even though it should.
Honestly, she saved me from myself in ways that she herself has no idea of, and I will never be able to thank her enough for that, but I just hope that one day she feels comfortable enough with me to share her own past.
My phone started ringing, but before I could pick it up, I noticed something on Emma. I declined the call and turned Emma's sleeping form once on the bed to get a good look at her back.
What the fuck!? Does she have fucking whip marks on her back?
I clenched my fists at my sides to control myself around her. I will fucking kill the bastard who did this to her. She didn't tell me much about her past, but I don't blame her. I understand that she doesn't want to remember those memories, but it makes me feel powerless in these situations.
It reminds me of my own sister, who was dead because of me.
Fuck, I need to know before it gets worse.
Leaving the room, I called Marco back. He answered after the first two rings,
"Boss, I found something."
"What is it?" I asked, curious about his information.
"It's regarding the assassin, Emma. It's better if you come and see this for yourself." He replied.
"Come to the warehouse tomorrow morning, and we'll discuss this then." I said this before ending the call. He must have found out something important; otherwise, he would have told it to me over the phone, like he usually does.
