Fiery Mariana

Chapter 4

Mariana and Lucas would come to the beach everyday and would talk, laugh and enjoy each other's company. "Mariana you're such a marvelous girl with beauty ,brains and talent all at once"said Lucas."What can I say ,it's not my fault if I was born so unique.I guess it runs in the family" Mariana responded. "Oh! okay. So should I bow down to our future queen?" Lucas said sarcastically. "I'm just joking silly boy." Mariana laughed , revealing her child like gummy smile. Lucas took a moment to gaze upon her. "You look even prettier when you're happy. I must try to come up with ways to get you to smile more." Lucas said. "Stop it-Or what ?" Lucas interrupted Mariana and pulled her close.This sent butterflies down her stomach. She pulled away quickly and said "Not that easy. Bye!"

As Mariana started seeing Lucas more they grew closer and she started to fall even harder for him. One sunny day as usual Lucas and Mariana were hanging out at the beach. Mariana asked Lucas to come and swim with her but he kept making excuses. "If you don't know how to swim, I'll teach you." She said. "I just don't like water ." He stuttered. Without hesitation Mariana pulled Lucas in the water . When they were both in the water Mariana noticed a change . He look more different and radiatiant. But had strange things at sides of his neck. Mariana looked horrified and ran away.

The next morning Mariana woke up feeling peaceful and ready to take on the the day. At school her classmates noticed something different about her. She was kinder and softer. When a classmate came to her asking for a pen, Sofia was sure that Mariana would just ignore him. But to her surprise Mariana was kind and gave him an extra pen.

"Mariana!" Sofia  waved at her with a mischievous smile."Sup Sophie ." Mariana responded. "I'm not fine. I rarely ever see my friend." Said Sofia. "Stop lying Sophie you see me everyday." Responded Mariana . " Oh really. You know, I never really thought that you would ditch me for a boy. Your own best friend." Said Sofia acting said. "I'm so sorry Sophie. How can I make it up to you?" Said Mariana feeling ashamed. " Hmm I don't think anything you do or say will make me feel less sad but we can go to the beach and chill like old times." Said Sofia with an evil smirk. Mariana accepted not knowing Sofia had something else in mind. When they finally came to the beach they talked and had a good time until Lucas came. Sofia finally put her plan in action. Sofia manipulated Mariana to make a move on Lucas and to snatch him away from her. Mariana tried her best to ignore Lucas after what happened the previous day but Sofia also tried her best to flirt with Lucas. Mariana saw this and she wasn't very pleased. As Sofia continued to flirt with Lucas , Mariana left . Lucas tried to call her but she didn't pick up the phone. Mariana was heart broken and angry at Sofia. Her Mother noticed that she was quiet and she didn't eat her food. Mariana locked herself in her room for two days. Marianna's Mother tried to talk to her but she didn't stayed quiet .

Mariana finally decided to confront Sofia at school."Sofia!!" Mariana shouted. Her voice filled with anger as it thundered across the cafeteria. "What's wrong Mariana are you okay." Said Sofia ,her voice as smooth as silk. "Don't try to act smart with me. Friends are supposed to support each other not stab one another in the back." Said Mariana disappointed. " I still don't know what you're talking about." Said Sofia . Mariana slapped Sofia and the whole cafeteria went silent. "You just couldn't stand me being happy so you had to destroy it all ." Said Mariana with hot tears flowing down her cheeks. " Oh ,for that I can do a lot more damage. It's not my fault that boys just can't resist my charm." Sofia responded as her blood boiled. "What happened to you Sophie? You've changed and I don't like this new version of you. Don't even think for a second I forgot about what you did to Valentina."Said Mariana. "Valentina." Sofia chuckled. "I did her a favour." She responded with pride. "By ruining her life and snatching her boyfriend from her?" Mariana exposed her. Everyone gasped. "Your such a self-centered and selfish witch. Don't ever talk to me again." Said Mariana as she walked out of the cafeteria. Sofia was left speechless.
