Chase took off his headset off his shoulders and walked up to me. "Bro what is that??" He sounded annoyed, as he passed me at his doorframe and look downstairs from the ledge.
I shrug my shoulders in confusion and irritation. "Don't know, but it's annoying."
Chase scoffs and goes back into his room, deciding to block out the annoying glitches of Alexa by playing his game again. He was about to put on his headset, and I was about to walk to my room, but..
Without warning, footsteps. And it got louder.. and louder. And it was approaching.
Y/N's POV;
"..uh-oh." I muttered with wide eyes. Okay, so maybe someone was in the house. And maybe it gave off a creepy, eery vibe. Deja vu, anyone?
Chase, without wasting a moment, pushed me into the room and closed the door. He locked it and took a few steps back, and I did the same. The footsteps were a bit distant now, but still approaching and getting louder.
After a second or two, he turned to me. "Bro- You heard that, right?" He whispered with wide eyes and slightly furrowed brows.
I nod and laughed out of nervousness. "Well yea, how could I not?!" I whisper-yelled, feeling like an idiot. Why didn't I think of that in the first place.
I sighed and started pacing around the room, my hands on my hips. "What's dad gonna think? Hes gonna think we're absolute bafoons! Oh great, now I'm using big words I dont even know the meaning of. What're we gonna do? What are we doing??" I started ranting in a fast pace, panicked and worried.
Chase blinked in slight surprise, then scoffed. He quickly smacked my shoulder and made me stop. "Hey! You sound like an idiot! Stop it!" He exclaimed and held me by the shoulders.
I took a deep breath, and exhaled deeply. "It's not my fault it feels like we're living the dang Scream series!" I frowned and said as my arms dropping and stretching to my sides.
Chase groaned in annoyance and shook me by the shoulders again. He hated worrywarts, but it wasn't my fault I was one of them. "Stop it! We're fine in here.. probably." He mutters that last part and I scoff.
"Yea right! Whoever's out there is coming right now and their footsteps are getting closer!" I gestured an open palm to the locked door. The distant footsteps were becoming less and less distant every passing second.
Chase looked to the door, knowing I was right. He looked up and grumbled quietly, then shifted his gaze back to me. "..yea, okay, then what do we do??" He questioned, trying to be serious without seeming scared.
I huffed and shoved his hands off my shoulders. "That's why I'm asking you!—" I whisper-yelled, but then stopped myself. I paused, before my head and gaze turned to the door.
In the distance, a few feet outside the room, there was laughing. But not just any laughing. Giggling; mischevious and gleeful giggling. But it wasn't quite that.. doll-like or childish like before.
It was mixed in with muffled cackling, which must've meant someone was stiffling their laughter. But who in Hell would?—
..ohhh... that made much more sense.
Chase narrowed his eyes at me and snapped his fingers in front of my face. "Hello? Earth to y/n?" He asks, probably annoyed by my sudden silence.
I blinked and turned my head to him. "Chase, I know who's outside."
He shifted his position and made a puzzled expression. "Huh? Who?"
I scoffed and rolled my eyes, gesturing to the door again. "Listen, you idiot." I mumbled with slight irritation and significantly less panic.
Chase raised a brow, but then glanced to the door. He took a few steps closer, put the side of his head against the door, trying to listen through.
His brows furrowed as he listened to the mix cackling and giggling, before he made a face of realization. "Oohhhh.."
I nodded in agreement, understanding his realization. "Yep." I shifted my position as the giggles turned into quiet whispers.
Chase sighed and leaned off the door. "Ok, but why are they doing this?"
I scoffed at his obliviousness and crossed my arms. "Why else? They're trying to get back at us. Yknow, for our times of pranking."
Chase blinked and thought for a second. He glanced to the door, listening to the giggles before scoffing at them. "Well they're not doing a very good job, are they?"
"True." I agreed and nodded. He wasn't wrong. They were much too giddy right now for their little prank to work. But that didn't mean it would slide.. would it?
There were a few moments of silence, besides the fake footsteps and giggling, before I sighed quietly. We couldn't get back at them right now.. they'd probably expect it. "Well what do we do now?"
Chase grumbled about how dumb this was and how he disliked it. He looked to me, and rolled his eyes. "I dunno, go out? We can confront them about this.. stupidity."
I took that into consideration quietly. Well there wasn't much else to do.
I sighed and rubbed my temple quietly. "Fine.. this is so dumb." I mumbled and crossed my arms.
Chase nodded in agreement and grumbled as well. I walked to the door first, and calmly opened it with one hand. Chase walked over to stand behind me, peeking out slightly. Ah, there they were.
Standing right there, all of 'em. Great. Even mom was chuckling. How amazing.
Both me and Chase deadpanned. I opened the door completely and both me and Chase stood side by side with crossed arms.
I huffed and rolled my eyes. "Very funny guys.." I mumbled sarcastically. Lexi and Shawn snickered at that.
Chase was definitely irritated. "Not funny! We thought there was an intruder!" He exclaimed.
Dad just giggled and held a hand to his mouth. Mom looked smug, a smirk on her face and her arms crossed. She spoke first. "Well now you know what it's like on the receiving end." She simply states.
Shawn giggled as well, and Lex and Mike chuckled. "Yea, get a taste of your own medicine!" Shawn added playfully, which made Mike cackle more and Lex giggle.
Damn. They were having a field trip with this. I rolled my eyes quietly, but knew we couldn't do anything. Guess we deserved it anyways.
Chase also knew the same thing. He wasn't dumb. He huffed quietly and crossed his arms tighter. "Yea yea.. but that doesn't mean we're gonna stop!"
I didn't disagree. And instead nodded with a small smirk. "If anything, this is just fuel for us to do more pranks." I added.
Duddz wiped a fake tear from his eye, sighing and laughing. "Oh sure. Sure sure. Like we won't expect it." He says with a sure and amused tone.
Mike then also added. "We know you guys too well now, trust me. And besides, you guys were definitely terrified."
Lex nodded and chuckled. "And we will not be letting that go anytime this week." Lexi commented too. Which made Shawn, mom and dad snicker some more.
"Not even next month!" Shawn giggles and says.
Chase huffed and rolled his eyes again. I only sighed.
Great. This was gonna be a great few months.

Author's Note:
Uhmmm. So this was.. very anti-climatic now that I think about it. But, if this is still going well, I might make a version 2 wherein Chase and y/n fall for the prank and do random stuff.
Other than that I hope this is ok for now, since I'm pretty sick at the moment. 😔
Stay safe readers!!
Sincerely,
