Chapter 8

Two Years Later. (2025)

The month of March, to be exact the final exam time. HSE is a two year course, and have a public exam in both years. The final marks will constitute the public exam marks of both years. And this mark is an important step in their future, but most students aren't still aware of its significance.

Today is the last day of exam. In the morning more than thousand students of plus one and plus two are writing their exams in their respective classes. The last exam is biology and it's a relatively easy subject for those who studied thoroughly.

At sharp 12 O'clock the final bell rang and everyone sighed happily. The joy and relief was visible on their beaming face. As soon as they walked out of the exam hall, they threw the questions papers in the air and the joyful screaming of second years was mixed with many feelings.

Today is the last day of exam, and also the last day of them as an school student. When they walk out of the compound today, they are not longer school students. From tomorrow onwards, they can relax after a decade of 'misery' in school.

After this day, the chances that they all would see again in future is too slim. So to enjoy the final time together, everyone was going out to celebrate. The joy of leaving and loss and sadness of not being able to see eachother again soon is visible on their faces. With mixed feelings, a group of students dressed in uniforms and carefree smiles and expectations ran out of the school gate. Some of them are holding the hands of their friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, and hugging too.

After coming out, they turned around and looked at the board above the gate, "HOPE HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL", and the majestic campus building behind it. Through the windows of the campus, they can see their teachers who accompanied them for two years. They were busy in arranging the answer sheets accordingly along with the invigilators.

When the teachers noticed the reluctant and expectant eyes of their kids outside they all approached the windows.

"YEYYYY!!!!!!" The students echoed in union and waved their eyes vigorously towards them.

The teachers smiled brightly at them and waved back. Their eyes were extremely gently, maybe this is the first time the students has seen such a warm side of their teachers. Their eyes were full of blessings for these kids and well wishes for their future.

"WE LOVE YOU ANGELS!!" The students shouted loudly, with a wide smile and eyes filled with tears.

"WE TOO LOVE YOU, GOD BLESS YOU BRATS!!" The teachers shouted back, their eyes were also slightly red.

At this time, the math teacher with a round black rimmed glass on his nose and lungs full of seriousness and a big bear belly, took his stick (pointer) and beat it heavily on the window grill and shouted at them, "GO HOME BRATS!!!"

The students and teachers laughed together and quickly dispersed. The math teacher looked at the shattering students and sighed. His eyes were looking at them like a strict father who is watching his child going away from him to pursue his dreams. He smiled lightly. If the students has seen it, they might faint on the spot. They better believe that the sun rose in the north than their Mr. Beer smiled!!

At this time, there were only a few students inside the campus, soon they also went out. All teachers and invigilators who were the teachers from other schools also left. By the time, the campus compound was completely empty it was already 5 O'clock in the evening.

But no one noticed that on the top floor of the campus, in the last class a girl was drifted into sleep, with her head buried in her arms on the desk...
