Chapter 9

After the exam ended, Jasmine and others were planning to go outside to have fun. When they saw Deepa packing her bag to go home, they asked her whether she is coming with them.

"Deepa, let's go and enjoy today! You have never been out with us before!!"

"Yeah girl! Come on!!"

Jasmine and friends asked her earnestly. Seeing that they are sincerely inviting her, and this might be the last time they spent together.

"Okay..." Deepa said but her voice was suppressed under the shouting of students outside. So others didn't heard her. But among them Lekha, one in the friend circle heard her clearly. Seeing that others didn't heard that Deepa was coming, a flash of sinister appeared in the depth of her eyes.

Everyone's attention drifted to the group of students outside and they didn't continued to talk to Deepa. Before leaving Jasmine and others went to the bathroom, leaving only Lekha and Deepa in the classroom.

"Deepa, you wait here for us. We will call you when we leave. We hadn't seen the teachers yet. By the time we met them all, it will be quite late. You already seen them, so you will be bored with us. Wait here, okay?" Lekha said.

"Got it." Deepa smiled at her, and sat back on the bench.

Seeing that Deepa wasn't suspecting anything, Lekha walked out. Her eyes were mixed with jealousy and hatred. And as for why, who told Deepa to be better than anyone? Why did her parents always compare herself to Deepa? It's all her fault!!

After they all finished going to the bathroom, Jasmine and others along with Lekha walked towards the entrance of the school.

"It's a pity that Deepa isn't coming..."

"Yeah... She always loves to be herself."

"That's what she likes."

"She is a genius! You knew their mind works better when they are alone!!"

They discussed each other and went away from the compound.

Lekha turned her head and looked at the building that is getting further away. 'She won't bea fool to keep waiting there.... Will she??' Hesitation and guilt filled her heart but she consoled herself and left.

Time went by, Deepa was in the classroom reading a book to pass time. But she was soon bored because she is hungry. She only had breakfast today and didn't had lunch till now. She can still hear teachers sound from the other rooms.

Believing that Lekha and Jasmine might look for her, Deepa leaned forward on the desk and closed her eyes.

But she didn't know that her 'friends' are already in their destination and enjoying with all heart. There is no Deepa in their mind.

Deepa had sent a message to her parents, that she will be late today and is going out with her friends. So they didn't panic when she wasn't home even after 5 O'clock. Knowing Deepa's nature, her parents expected her to be more open with her peers.

The sky was covered in dark and crimson, sun was setting. Suddenly, Deepa opened her eyes because she felt the protest in her stomach. Looking at the empty classroom and darkening sky her eyes was cold and a big crack twisted her heart.
