Hope POV
Waking up to sunlight hitting my face, it felt warm and comforting. I shifted in my position, slowly opening my eyes.

Minhos POV

She stirred in her sleep, mumbling some words as her hands still tugged at my shirt after her panic attack, which I found out the name was from Jorge. She fell asleep in my arms.

Carrying her into the car that we borrowed from Marcus, she woke up after a while. Her colorful eyes slowly opened, and her gaze met mine as I smiled down at her and said, "Ahh, sleeping beauty awakes, huh?" Her face grew red as she shoved her face into my chest, hands covering her eyes. I smiled; she was so cute. My heart squeezed.

As the car rumbled to a stop, the infectious laughter between Hope and Fry gradually faded into the background, but their playful banter persisted. Jorge's directive for us to continue on foot was met with a collective sigh, signaling the end of our brief respite in the vehicle.

Hope, ever eager, attempted to open the door, only to find it stubbornly stuck. A frustrated sigh escaped her lips as she wrestled with the handle.

Amused by her futile struggle, I couldn't help but chuckle. Catching her glare, I quickly composed myself, but the corners of my lips still twitched with suppressed laughter. With a gesture of impatience, she turned to me, her eyes silently pleading for assistance.
I reached out, maneuvering the door open from the outside with a deft twist of my hand.

As Hope stepped out onto the dusty ground, I hesitated for a moment, my hand lingering on the door frame. Should I take her hand? The thought flickered through my mind, accompanied by a sudden rush of uncertainty. What if my hand was sweaty? What if she didn't want me to? In the end, I decided to go for it, casting aside my fleeting doubts.

Our fingers intertwined, and I felt a rush of warmth spread through me. Glancing at Hope, I was met with a radiant smile, her dimples deepening as she looked up at me. It was a moment of unspoken connection, a silent understanding that transcended words.

With Hope leading the way, her hand gently tugging mine forward.
Fry that shank , caught the exchange and raised an eyebrow suggestively, his teasing smirk all too evident.
I shot him a playful glare, flipping him off, but before he could respond, a sudden noise shattered the moment, prompting us to seek cover behind a nearby vehicle.
as we huddled behind the car, two figures approached.
One was a blonde girl, her hair shining even in the light. The other had tan skin and braided hair, looking fierce with a gun in her hand.
She didn't waste a second, shouting out orders like she owned the place. Her voice was commanding, making it clear she wasn't someone to mess with.
"You three, move right now!" she yelled at us.
As my hand left Hope's tight grip, placing them in the air, she followed my lead.
"Don't be stupid, let's go," she pointed her gun. Some woman, I thought to myself.

As her gaze fell on Aris, she took a moment, her eyes slowly moving to Hope.
"Aris? Hope?" her voice cracked as she removed her bandana.
Hope's raspy voice came out, "Harriet?"
She ran up to the girl with the gun, pulling her into a tight hug. "God, I thought I wouldn't ever see you again," said the girl.
Shaking her head, Hope moved to the blonde girl. "Sonya?" called out Hope, pulling her in as Sonya hugged back.
"You're lucky we didn't shoot your dumbass."

As Hope's raspy laugh filled the air, my curiosity got the best of me. "I'm sorry, what's happening?" I asked. Aris replied, "We were together in the maze," and we all nodded in understanding.
My gaze shifted to Hope, still smiling and engrossed in conversation with the girl named Harriet. Harriet had her arms around her, and Hope's cheeks were rosy.
It seemed a bit too close for comfort, and I didn't like it.

"We're clear, guys," announced Harriet, and all around us, armed people emerged from the mountains.

"We're taking them to base," Sonya said as we started walking.

"How... how did you get here?" Hope asked.

"The right army got us out," Harriet replied, smiling at her.

"The right army... Do you know where they are?" Thomas inquired.

The girl looked back and opened the door. "Hop in," she said.
