Today was the day I was talking to Coach Mulky about transferring. I was nervous. Of course she had already talked to My manager and Geno about it. But I still needed to talk to her.
"Hey coach." I say while taking a seat in front of her desk in the office.
"Hey Madeline! If you're here to talk about your transfer just know I would never be mad at you. You are doing what's right for you and your heart. And I will never hold you back from that." She said smiling at me.
"Well I just wanted to say thank you. I have had the best 3 years of my life here at LSU. You have made me such a better player and teammate. You have taught me more than how to play basketball and for that I wanted to thank you." I say while tears start to rim my eyes.
"Well you know I'm going to miss you kid. But I wouldn't mind beating some UConn ass in March." She says laughing. "Come give me a hug girl" she says standing up.
I stand up as-well. "I'm going to miss you" I say starting to cry.
"Well when you hit your first 3 I want you to say, that was for Coach Kim okay?" She says wiping my tears.
"Yes ma'am." I say wiping my tears again.
"Go make UConn yours baby." She says
I laugh walking out of her office
"Wait!" She says "I have your 2,000 career point ball, I want to keep the 1,000 one though, you know for memories." She says
"Okay. I say taking it, do you just want to 1,000 point one cause it's rhinestoned?" I say picking it up.
"Maybe." She says laughing again. "If you ever need anything text me." She says sweetly.
"Of course. Bye coach." I say starting to cry again
"Bye Madeline."
I step into the locker room to turn in my gear. Yes of course I'm sad to leave LSU. This was my home for 3 years. But I'm ready to make a new one at UConn.
I turn in my jerseys at I get in my car. I drive back to my dorm with Hailey, I started packing last week. I told Hailey that I was transferring that night.
"Hey Hails." I say walking into my dorm. Hailey was sitting on the coach watching all American. She has the biggest crush on Darnell.
"Hey Mads!" She says turning to look at me. " When are you going to tell the media that you're transferring.?" She says going back to watch her show as I sit down beside her.
"Right now." I say looking at my phone

Madeline.miller15: I have had a amazing 3 years here at LSU. I love this team and this program. I have to thank my teammates for having my back with everything I do. They were always there for me. And my coach's. They supported me with my decision and never doubted me. They always had faith in me. But with that. It's time for a new chapter. I have decided to transfer to the University of Connecticut. With that being said I am not transferring because I am not happy with the Tigers. But because I need to expand my growth. So, goodbye tigers, hello huskies! @uconnwbb.
