5 weeks later.

Evelyn began ghosting Finn ever since what happened between them the night after the alumni. She stopped going to the cafe and coffee cart and started sending Rory for stuff. In the only class she had with Finn she would either sit in a different seat or not attend the class at all just to avoid running into him.

As Finn rounded a corner he nearly collided with a young woman walking briskly in the opposite direction. He stumbled back, his heart racing as he recognized her as Evelyn's twin sister.

"Rory, wait!" Finn called out, his voice laced with urgency as he hurried to catch up with her.

Rory turned to face him, her expression guarded as she eyed him warily. "What do you want, Finn?"

Finn took a deep breath, his determination steeling his resolve as he pleaded his case. "I need to find Evelyn. It's important. Please, Rory, just tell me where she is."

Rory hesitated, uncertainty flickering in her eyes as she weighed her options. She had promised Evelyn that she wouldn't reveal her whereabouts to him, but Finn's earnest plea tugged at her heartstrings in a way she hadn't expected.

"I can't just give out her dorm number like that, Finn, She's been avoiding you for a reason." Rory replied.

Finn's shoulders sagged in defeat, disappointment etched on his face as he realized the gravity of the situation. But he refused to give up, his determination burning bright as he met Rory's gaze with unwavering resolve.

"I just want to talk to her, Rory. Please, I promise I won't do anything inappropriate" Finn pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.

Rory studied him for a long moment, her expression softening as she saw the sincerity in his eyes. With a resigned sigh, she relented, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision.

“...On God?” Rory asked

“Yes, On God” Finn replied.

".....Fine, I'll tell you her dorm number." Rory said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Finn stood nervously outside Evelyn's dormitory door. With a determined breath, Finn knocked softly on the door, his heart pounding in his chest as he waited for a response. Moments later, the door creaked open, revealing Evelyn's weary expression as she peered out at him, her eyes guarded and distant.

"Finn, what are you doing here?" Evelyn's voice was tinged with surprise, her tone cautious as she regarded him with uncertainty.

Finn's stomach churned with nerves as he met her gaze, his words tumbling out in a rush of desperation. "Evelyn, I've been looking everywhere for you. I can't stand not being around you, not hearing your voice or your beautiful laugh. Please, just give me a chance to talk things out with you."

Evelyn's expression softened slightly at Finn's earnest plea, but her resolve remained firm as she shook her head. "Finn-"

Finn cut her off “One drink. Please”

“I stopped drinking,” Evelyn replied.

“You stopped? Since when?” Finn asked

“2 weeks ago” Evelyn lied through her teeth.

“Well, Alright…but, Why?” Finn said.

“Because I kept waking up next to you” Evelyn responded.

Finn's heart sank at her words, his eyes pleading with her to reconsider. "I respect your decision. But can't we just have one drink together? Just one, so we can talk things out like adults?"

Evelyn hesitated, torn between her desire to maintain the undeniable pull of Finn's charm. She knew she shouldn't give in, knew she should stand firm in her resolve. But as she looked into Finn's eyes, she saw the raw vulnerability lurking beneath his confident facade, and she couldn't help but waver.

"Finn, I don't know..." Evelyn's voice trailed off, uncertainty clouding her features as she wrestled with her inner demons.

Finn stepped closer, his hand reaching out to gently touch hers in a gesture of comfort. "Please, Evelyn. I promise I won't let anything bad happen. Let's just have one drink together, and then you can decide if you still want me around."

Evelyn's resolve crumbled in the face of Finn's earnest plea, her heart aching with the weight of her decision. With a resigned sigh, she nodded slowly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay, Finn. Just one drink."

4 days later.

The afternoon sun streamed through the window of Evelyn's college dorm room as she sat hunched over her textbooks, With a heavy sigh, she reached for her phone, the screen lighting up with an incoming call from an unfamiliar number.

Curiosity piqued, Evelyn answered the call, her brow furrowing in confusion as she heard her father's voice on the other end of the line. Christopher spoke with a tone of false cheerfulness that set off alarm bells in Evelyn's mind.

"Evelyn, darling, how are you?" Christopher's voice was smooth and polished, but beneath the facade, Evelyn sensed a hint of desperation.

Evelyn's grip tightened on the phone, her suspicions growing with each passing moment. "Did you need something, Dad?"

Christopher's response was quick and to the point, his words dripping with false sincerity. "I want to take you on a trip to Paris. Just you and me, bonding over croissants and fine wine. What do you say?"

Evelyn's heart raced at the unexpected invitation, her mind racing with doubts and uncertainties. She knew her father too well to trust his sudden change of heart, but a small part of her longed for the chance to reconnect with him, to mend the fractured bond that had been broken for so long.

"Are you serious, Dad?" Evelyn's voice was laced with disbelief, her skepticism evident in her tone.

Christopher laughed, a hollow sound that sent shivers down Evelyn's spine. "Of course, darling. I genuinely want to spend time with you. What do you say? Will you join me?"

Evelyn hesitated, torn between her desire for closure and her instinctive distrust of her father's intentions. But in the end, her longing for a sense of belonging won out, and she found herself agreeing to the trip, her heart fluttering with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.

As they boarded the plane to Paris, Evelyn couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that her father's sudden change of heart was too good to be true. But as they touched down in the city she pushed aside her doubts, determined to make the most of their time together.

But as the days passed and Evelyn's suspicions grew back, Christopher's true motives were revealed in a shocking twist that left her reeling. He confessed to seeing a woman named Sherry and revealed that she had a baby sister.

Christopher laid bare his plans to disown Evelyn, her twin sister Rory, her absent mother Lorelai, and the entire Gilmore family in favor of starting anew with his newfound love. And as Evelyn stood before him, her world crumbling around her, she realized that her father's love had always been conditional, a fleeting illusion that left her shattered and alone.

But fate had one final twist in store for Evelyn and Christopher, as tragedy struck in the most unexpected of ways. On their final trip together, Christopher's life was cut short, leaving Evelyn to grapple with the weight of his betrayal and the harsh reality of a future without him.
