The next morning.

Evelyn padded into the kitchen, her tousled hair falling in loose waves around her shoulders. Finn stood at the counter, pouring himself a glass of whiskey with practiced ease.

"Good morning, Finn," Evelyn said with a smile, wrapping her arms around him from behind in a friendly embrace. "Starting the day off with whiskey, are we?"

Finn chuckled, his laughter a rich timbre in the quiet of the morning. "You know me, Evelyn," he replied, turning to return her hug with equal warmth. "Whiskey makes everything better."

Evelyn grinned, her eyes sparkling with amusement as Finn poured her a glass of whiskey as well. "Well then, I suppose it's whiskey for breakfast," she said with a playful wink, taking the glass from him and settling into a chair at the kitchen table.

"So, what's on your mind this fine morning, Evelyn?" Finn asked, breaking the silence with gentle curiosity.

Evelyn sighed, her thoughts turning to the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead. "Just life, I guess," she replied with a shrug, her voice tinged with a hint of melancholy. "Trying to navigate through it all, one day at a time."

Finn nodded in understanding, his expression sympathetic as he reached out to squeeze her hand in silent solidarity. "I know it's tough, Evelyn," he said softly, his voice filled with compassion. "But you're stronger than you think. And you've got me here to help you through it."

Before Evelyn could respond, the sound of tiny footsteps echoed through the apartment, and they turned to see GG standing in the doorway, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"Good morning, GG," Evelyn said with a smile, beckoning her over to join them at the table. "Did you sleep well?"

GG nodded, her blonde curls bouncing as she took a seat beside Evelyn, her eyes bright with excitement. "Can I have some juice, please?" she asked, her voice sweet and eager.

Evelyn chuckled, reaching for the juice carton and pouring GG a glass with a fond smile. "Of course" she said, ruffling GG's hair affectionately. "Anything for you."

The grand foyer of the Gilmore mansion echoed with the click-clack of Evelyn's heels and the soft rustle of Rory's skirt as they made their way down the ornate staircase. Evelyn paused, her brow furrowing in confusion as she heard the unmistakable sound of laughter coming from the dining room. Rory's eyes widened in surprise as she exchanged a puzzled glance with her sister.

"Did you hear that?" Rory whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.

Evelyn nodded slowly, her curiosity piqued. "I think it's coming from the dining room," she replied, gesturing towards the direction of the laughter.

Together, they made their way towards the dining room, pushing open the door to reveal a scene that took them both by surprise. The scent of dinner lingered in the air, mingling with the unmistakable aroma of alcohol as Richard and Emily, Originally separated, stood locked in a passionate embrace.

Evelyn's brow furrowed in confusion as she glanced at Rory, who mirrored her sister's expression of disbelief. "Did we just walk in on our grandparents making out?" Rory whispered incredulously, her voice barely above a whisper.

Evelyn shook her head in disbelief, a wry smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Apparently so," she replied dryly, her tone laced with irony. "Who knew Friday night dinners could be so scandalous?"

As they made their way into the dining room, the tension in the air seemed to dissipate, replaced by the familiar rituals of family dinner. Richard and Emily took their seats at the head of the table, pouring themselves glasses of alcohol with ice while Evelyn and Rory opted for club soda, their eyes meeting in silent agreement.
