Chapter 15

~4 Months & 2 Weeks Later~

In the past 4 months and 2 weeks , alot has happened. Melo turned 1 two weeks ago. Alex moved out a couple months ago. Kennedy & Caston are expecting soon because she's 2 months pregnant. My father was diagnosed with leukemia a month ago. 1 Week ago , Jacob & Alex welcome baby Landon Alonzo Lyons into the world and he is adorable(in multimedia). Melo can say "mama" , "daddy" , "bye bye" , and "eat eat". He is the sweetest little guy ever. Lexi & Quan moved into a 3 bedroom , 2 bath house. Javon transferred his records to Miami University so he could be back closer to Lexi. Malik & Chrissy are back together and moved to Washington and has not kept in touch with me about Melo since. Lusicous has a girlfriend name Anika and they've been dating for 5 months now. My pops and Anika moved to Gainesville a couple months ago.

I was sitting in the living room watching "The Haves And The Have Nots". Ian have to work today so I was just chilling. Javon was otw over to the house. Quan was gone to work and didn't get off until 9. Melo was at daycare and I didn't have to go get him until 3. I was laying on the couch when my phone started ringing. I looked at it and it was Anika texting me.

Anika💙👣- Baby girl ?(1:28 PM)

-Ma'am ?(1:28 PM)

Anika💙👣-Your dad just came from his first chemo treatment. The chemo is to strong for him to handle according to the doctors. They admitted him into the hospital. They giving him 24-72 hours to live.(1:30PM)

-Here I am , 19 years old and I'm finna loose my father a month before it's a year since my mom died. Imma come home tonight once my boyfriend gets off of work. Your daughters and son in town ?(1:32PM)

Anika💙👣-London & Kylie are here but Mersades want be here until sometime tonight. Cody want be here until sometime tonight too.(1:34 PM)

-Alright , well , me & the crew coming home tonight. Imma text Caston nem and let them know wassup and i'm pretty sure they gone leave with us tonight. Where Gab & Cece ?(1:35 PM)

Anika💙👣-They dont get out of school until 2:30. Imma go pick them up soon.(1:36PM)

I placed my phone on the table and sighed. Here I am , 19 years old and i'm finna loose my father. I never thought this cancer would take him out this soon but aye , I guess God needs my daddy more than I do. Next month on the 10th is 1 year that my mom passed away and the 11th is her 46th birthday. Shit crazy how she passed away a day before her glo-day.  Anika and her kids have been the most supportive since we found out my dad has cancer. I was into my thoughts that I didn't realize Javon had walked in the house.

Javon snapped in my face , "Bitch."

I looked over at him , "My bad."

"What's up with you ?"he asked

I threw him my phone and he read the messages and gasped , "19 years old and im loosing both parents."

He came and comforted me and I just let out all my tears because I couldn't hold them in any longer. My number one fan , best friend , teacher , doctor , mentor , and everything else is finally leaving me. Cancer could've let me have my dad for a little while longer but I guess God said 19 years was enough for me. I just gotta face the fact that both my parents finna be 6 ft under and there's nothing I can do about it. Daddy told me once he was on his death bed for me to get his will out his house we live in. I was the only person who knew about the will so nobody else knew where it was. I was gonna call a family meeting tomorrow night at the house and let everybody know their share and everything because tonight just ain't my night.

Javon looked at me , "Imma go home and pack because I'm going home with y'all. He was like a father to me too and I can't let him lay to rest without me being there."

I nodded my head and he got up & walked out the house making sure to lock the door behind me. I walked upstairs & started packing me , Quan , & Melo's things so as soon as Quan got off all we had to do was leave. By the time I was finished packing it was time for me to go get Melo from daycare. After I picked him up , I decided I was gonna tell Jacob & Alex in person since I wanna see Landon.

I walked in the house and sat on the couch and Alex handed me Landon. I unlocked my phone and clicked on me & Anika messages and tossed it to Jacob.

"Shit man , we can't get a break." Jacob said

Alex looked at the messages , "Lawd."

"Y'all leaving out tonight with us ?" I asked

They both nodded. I looked over at Melo and he was watching Spongebob.

Jacob looked over at me , "Caston know ?"

I shook my head , "I'm finna go over there after I leave y'all house. I just wanted to come see tee baby first." I placed Landon back in Alex arms. "Come on fat daddy." Melo looked at me and ran to me. I smiled and picked him up and placed him on my hips.

Alex said , "We'll be at the house round 8."

I nodded and walked out the house. Melo didn't wanna sit in his seat because he wanted to drive so I sat him in my lap and drove 15-20 minutes to Kennedy & Caston house.

I knew that Caston was gone take it the hardest outta all of us because him and pops are the CLOSEST. They both in the music industry so they connect more than any of us. After I told him , Kennedy said they was gone leave out with us so they'll be over once they finish packing. Quan ended up getting off at 6 so we got to leave earlier than 9. When we arrived in Gainesville it was 10:13. We all went to the hospital and when we got there , Kylie and London were sitting in the waiting room. We went in the room and seen my dad and he was happy to see all of us. We stayed there for about 30 more minutes before leaving. Cody & Mersades had arrived about 20 minutes ago. They were gonna stay at my dad's house and we were gonna stay at my dad's other house he had bought up here for us. We sold my mom's house back in Marietta and all the profits went to me , Melo , and Jacob. All the profits from my dad's house in Marietta went too Caston , Gab , & Cece.

I woke up the next morning feeling better than I did yesterday. Instead of the family meeting being tonight I decided on it being this morning. I grabbed the paper and told everybody to meet me downstairs. My dad even put Quan them in his will. I started reading the paper.

Lexi-All money in my banking and checking accounts

Jacob-Both houses profits along with the house

Caston-2 of the 5 cars profits along with the car

Cody , Mersades , Kylie -3 of the 5 cars profits along with car

London-1 of the 8 beach houses

After I read the will I told everybody how they had to claim everything that was theirs before pops death. I walked back upstairs and hopped in the shower. Once I got out I wrapped my towel around my body and did my morning routines. I looked through my bag and grabbed my black sweatpants and slid them on. I slid on my red ankle socks and found my red Alabama t-shirt and threw it over my head. I slid on my "Bulls Over Broadway" Jordans and applied my deodorant. I applied on a little make-up and put my glasses on. I grabbed my phone and keys and walked downstairs. I needed a little time away from everybody and everything right now.
